Store and not authentic. I could be wrong but not a fan of the corn tortillas. shrimp, beans and rice was quite tasty. The salsa and chips was fresh and very good. Overall is was good but just disappointed in the corn tortillas.
Service was quick and friendly, but it took a while to decide what to order due to the light glare on the menu, I had to block sections with my arm to read it.
The chips were unseasoned and likely stale. Those are normally demolished before ordering anything, they were left on the table. We ordered taco’s because that’s generally safe. Oscars Mexican Taco’s and steak tacos. Steak tacos were good, Osca’s was a different story. Both had fresh and tasty toppings with corn tortillas; however, Oscar’s were served flat but not fried. I got halfway through one before realizing there’s no steak and the chorizo is so mild we had to try some separately to confirm it’s chorizo. The “hot sauce” is definitely mild, which seems to be a theme in Jackson.
I’m told the margaritas were excellent.
The rice was crunchy as if it wasn’t cooked all of the way or it was scraped off of the bottom of the dish. Also lacked flavor, almost flavorless if we’re being honest. I also don’t understand why they had peas and carrot cubes in the rices, it was off putting and the veggies looked massively dehydrated.
The chicken was VERY dry and stringy. The flavor of the sauce on the enchiladas was very good and perhaps if I had gotten the cheese enchiladas I’d have enjoyed them more.
My husband said the beans tasted canned and unseasoned.
The tacos had dry steak and somehow the onion lacked flavor. The cilantro was very wilted.
The chicken tenders were good. But it’s hard to make those poorly so it’s not a real redemption.
The queso portion for $6 is a very small cup of queso but it was very good. The chips and salsa both were delicious.
The corn tortillas were well made and held structure quite well and had a depth of flavor that I really appreciated.
Overall our family spent over $100 on food that was very dissatisfying and could easily be done much better at home.
This area doesn’t have a lot of places to dine out so it’s not surprising that the quality and cost don’t match. The supply is so low this restaurant can get away with serving low quality meals at high quality prices.
The portions were all surprisingly small for a Mexican restaurant.
They were able to accommodate a group of 25 SORTA ? The server was clearly overwhelmed despite the restaurant being otherwise pretty slow at the time which says to me they’re not often very busy. He was courteous but still didn’t seem to be keeping up with the table very well. Such a large party is often difficult, so I still think the service was done well. We also never blame the server for low quality food so we made sure to tip well of course.
The restaurant was clean and cute, but had annoying parking where the parking lot was poorly lit, poorly maintained and over crowded likely from the neighboring restaurant.
It was a lovely visit with family despite the lack of taste and quality with the food.
Hope it gets better. Hope to use customer inputs in a positive and constructive way
We will visit again maybe next year. This place has an outdoor seating which we will try next visit.
Original location all 5’s here it’s all high 4’s. I fully expect after being open a few weeks it will also be all 5’s
Nice outside area. Inside a very good start to the atmosphere just needs a few more chacky stuff.
Food was good but both our dishes had slightly over cooked meats
