When you come to Lucca’s you are not eating out – you are dining out. Our unique fine dining experience is designed to tantalize all the senses. You see a relaxed atmosphere of Montana elegance – sophistication without the pomp and circumstance. Come experience Lucca’s, awarded The Best Restaurant in Helena for 2015, 2016 and 2017 by Business Insider magazine. Lucca’s is open at 5 p. m. for dinner Wednesday through Sunday (yes we are open on Sunday). Our intimate 54-seat setting fills up quickly, and reservations are highly recommended – best to call a week ahead. If needed, please leave a voicemail, and we will call you back promptly. Please note, reservation requests via email are not guaranteed until confirmed by our staff.

Wow! Reminds me of the show ‘The Bear’ as the entire staff worked together to provide the best food and service! Food was amazing, staff was exceptional and the selection of wines were excellent! The same food and service would be doing Le the price in Portland! Excellent t and highly recommend! I had the Halibut special, White Pinot from Oregon (half price bottle Wed)and the panna cotta for dessert!

Service and food were great! We live in Great Falls, about a hour and half north of Helena. We like to try different places when we are in town and it worked out that we settled on Lucca’s this trip. It happened to be Mother’s Day, and we did not make a reservation. Me, my husband, and son walked in and Tina the host said she could sit us at the bar and we sure appreciated it. (Now we know to make a reservation next time!). My son was very fond of the bread and butter! I will say for nine years old he is a tough (and sometimes brutally honest) critic. He said “It was the best he’s ever had”, and our waitress Angie kindly kept it coming to the table. Next we had the salad, very fresh, light and delicious. Our entrees were both pasta dishes, both very good. Pasta and proteins were cooked perfectly. Finished with a piece of tiramisu to go. Thank you Tina and Angie for being so kind and making my Mother’s Day dinner the best! You guys were wonderful. -The Irvin Family

Appetizers- BAKED FONTINA CHEESE, STUFFED PEPPERS
The peppers alone would keep us coming back. The best appetizer by far!
Entrees- SEA BASS PICCATA, GORGONZOLA STEAK
The orzo side dish was my favorite!!
We were so full but took a lemon raspberry cheesecake to go!! We will be back again!!
Our server was a delight as well, her recommendations were spot on every time.

From start to finish this place was impressive! The food was worth every penny, and our server, Savannah, was top notch! I feel I’m picky and it’s hard to impress me, but I honestly look forward to coming back to Lucca! We’re vegan, and we cheated a little, and it was beyond worth it! The mushroom bruschetta, a wild mushroom pappardelle, tiramisu for desert and an espresso! We’re honestly impressed with our experience.

The menu says it’s the best lasagna you’ve ever had and it pretty much lives up to it. The compound butter and bread were very good. The house salad was excellent. The tiramisu was incredible. Only possible critique I could give is it looked like a generic Italian restaurant and the bread knife could be a lot sharper.

We were very disappointed at Lucca’s last night. The table we reserved far ahead was taken (or bought?) out from under us. For dinner last night we had reserved the window table. It was the night of Helena’s Festival of Lights and we invited friends to join us. Lucca’s had confirmed that we would have that table. But without any advance notice, when we arrived we were told we would not be seated there. A different party of 4 was seated there soon after we arrived. We are loyal visitors to Lucca’s as it has been our favorite restaurant in Helena. But last night was a slap in the face.
On another note— The food there is always good but the offerings on the menu have not changed for years. It would be nice to see some variety in the menu selections.

I can’t say enough about Lucca’s! Everything I’ve ever had there has been amazing. The shrimp fra diavolo is my go-to and never disappoints. The service is always excellent. And that parmesean balsamic vinegar sauce they have with the bread, OMG, I could drink that stuff. Do yourself a favor, get a reservation, and go eat here! You won’t regret it!
Update: I just returned from a trip to San Diego and ate at a recommended place in little Italy just to compare their gamberi fra diavolo (more seafood than just shrimp in a red sauce) and there is no comparison. Theirs is good, but doesn’t even approach Lucca’s!!!

I don’t normally use words like exemplary or spectacular in my reviews. In fact neither of those words have ever made it into my over a hundred reviews. However they are absolutely necessary to describe the experience I just had. As a kid who grew up in Seattle I have a love for calamari however this was the best calamari I’ve ever tasted. Even the salad was special. The fisherman spaghetti however, was exemplary. It was an entire event on a plate. I’m normally pretty critical in my reviews however there is nothing bad for me to say here. Also the service was above and beyond your typical restaurant. Almost like a trip back in time to customer service really mattered. 10 out of 10 all the way around I will be returning

This place is a great date night place. First you walk in and are greeted by a very enthusiastic hostess. Then you are seated and offered, off menu wines. The menu is small serious and to the point, in a good way. There is variety of foods for all palettes and restrictions. We are keto and had a great experience. Our waitress was new but amazing. We decided to be adventurous and try stuff that we don’t normally get. For appetizers we got the mussels with pesto and crab stuffed peppers, both were phenomenal. Plus the wine that was suggested paired perfectly with the apps. After that they brought salad that was paired with an amazing vinaigrette. We ordered the lamb chops and the veal and I seriously can’t choose which one was better, both were amazing. I was slightly worried about ordering the lamb because I’ve had it in the past and didn’t like it. But this lamb was absolutely perfect! If you aren’t sure whether you like lamb or not, this is the place to try it, 100%. The veal was lightly breaded and had a Marsala sauce and was sooooo tender that you can cut it with a fork only. This place is one of the best places that we have eaten at in a long time. Montana’s/Helena’s hidden gem.
