We just went tonight for an early Valentine dinner. Jacob was our waiter. The place is so cute, warm, exposed brick and beautifully appointed. We had appetizers, meatballs and zucchini, 2 Lucatinis, 2 glasses of wonderful Italian red wines, barbera d’asti and a montepulciano d’abruzzo, veal marsala and margarita pizza. Topped it off with lemon torte and flourless chocolate cake. Absolutely FABULOUS!
PLEASE GO!! A GEM! We will be back!!

I’ve had about 1 to 2 focaccia sandwiches in Pittsburgh and this is definitely the best one so far! The focaccia is fresh and crispy with an amazing chewy/fluffy interior! The owner even came out and went table to table asking how everything was. It can be tricky to get a table but understandably so, definitely the best place to eat in Carnegie and a new rival for some of Pittsburghs other Italian restaurants. Meatballs are great, dessert is great, the dip the ice cream in a thick dark chocolate making an awesome chocolate shell. You can’t really come here with groups bigger than 6, great for tables of 2-4

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful experience dining here! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was outstanding, the owner’s nephew Enzo ran circles around everyone and he was so polite!
Our food was incredible, especially the focaccia and dips!!!
It’s especially special for us that we got to bring my parents who saw Timmy and Joanne’s son bring his dream to reality (and my mom’s painting hung on the wall)!! Rico we wish you nothing but the best! We will be back!!

Lucatino is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant felt warm, cozy, and incredibly clean. The staff were outstanding, attentive, polite, and genuinely welcoming, which made the entire experience even better.

The food was phenomenal. The focaccia was hands down the best I have ever had. Perfectly fresh and flavorful. The veal and peppers were to die for, and the beans and greens, oh my gosh, absolutely incredible. Even the salad was fresh and perfectly done.

Honestly, we tried what felt like half the menu and every single dish was amazing. As a very Italian family, we can be pretty particular about our food, and Lucatino absolutely gets our full approval. We will definitely be back.

Wow, words can not even explain how delicious the food here is. I have went 2 times so far and each time it did not disappoint. The staff had great communication and were beyond kind to us. The environment there felt as if i took a 2 hour vacation in Italy. Would 100% recommend as a date night or even a family dinner. 10/10

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Lucatino Italian Taverna! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for any occasion. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive — truly top-notch.

The food was incredible! Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The focaccia boards and pasta were delicious, and the unique Roman-style pizza had the perfect thin, crisp crust. You can really taste the passion and care behind each item — it feels like a modern, elevated take on classic Italian cooking.

Whether you’re grabbing a family dinner, date night, or just craving delicious Italian food, Lucatino is a must-try in the Pittsburgh area. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

This is a fantastic restaurant. The flavors in the food and cocktails are on point. The pricing is reasonable and the portions are appropriately sized based on price point. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is attentive. The menu is varied enough to ensure that I will be back. There is a small bar that seats six along with approximately 40 other seats in the space.

I sat at the bar with my wife and ordered an Aperol Spritz, a mocktail, two small plates, a focaccia flight, and two gelato bombas that we shared. Everything bite and sip was well balanced and bursting with flavor.

I have been fortunate to travel a lot in my life and this is one of few local restaurants where I feel confident I can take people from the area, people from where I grew up, and friends from international cities (including Rome) and everyone will enjoy the experience.

Arrived around 4pm on a Thursday as a party of 2. Was seated in a window seat. It was COLD. For a newly remodled building, I would have expected better temperature control. I was uncomfortable the entire time. I had water. My partner ordered coke with no ice. The coke came full of ice. He tasted it, and said it tasted like soda water. When he mentioned it to the waiter, the waiter confirmed there was something wrong with the soda machine. (Duh.) We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. The menu described them as being sharable. They came out as 3, smallish meatballs. They were rather tough on the outside, but tender on the inside. I’d rate them as mediocre at best, and not quite sharable. For my meal, I ordered an individual pasta dish with the “CSILKY SMOOTH” vodka sauce. It was not smooth, but CHUNKY. I do not like chunky. The sauce was described as silky smooth on the menu, which is why I picked it. My partner ordered a pasta sauce called Santino Sunday sauce which was described as having several meats such as beef, pork and veal. But the waiter asked him which protein he would like to add. So he said he would like sausage. We were confused because we thought the meats were already in the sauce. It came out with a piece of sausage on top and was spicy. We ordered desserts. I ordered the tiramisu, which was okay, but not like any traditional tiramisu I have ever had. My husband had a pistachio dessert, which he liked. Our bill with the tip came out to $90.00+. We thought the meals were small, lacked flavor and were very over-priced. The place was cold, crowded, and very noisy. They had music playing, but you could not hear it. I believe one of the owners was who came out to deliver our meal. He never introduced himself or came to the table later to ask how things were. We were still charged for the coke eventhough the soda machine wadn’t working. The dessert prices are not on the menu. The menu also does not list or state anything (including prices) for extra protein. So beware of extra charges. We also observed another table ordering a bottle of wine. The waiter did not open the bottle at their table. He brought it out to them already opened. We will not be returning. There are just too many things wrong with this place!
