It was our first time at Luca Bella Fine Foods, which is located near the North end on the east side.
Following the hostess’s recommendation, we chose to sit outside, which was great. They set up a heater, which was nice. Luca Bella has a massive open patio out front.
The volume was perfect, and we had lots and lots of great conversation while nibbling on rolls with butter and sipping Justin Cabernet.
We split the Rigatoni ‘Sunday Gravy,’ a Bolognese with Italian sausage, short rib, and Ricotta cheese. The macaroni was cooked al dente, just like I like it. ($28.00; I’m not sure if they added a split fee, but the portions were satisfying.)
We ended our meal with a brown butter cake with vanilla ice cream and strawberries.
We will definitely be back.
PS It’s much easier to park on the street behind Old Town in either the lots or on the street than to find parking in front of the restaurants on the main drag.
I had the salad and sandwich plate. The turkey sandwich was SO good! The pear salad was awesome. My husband had the steak salad and it was delicious! Prices are right too!
This place is definitely a winner.
The food here is so good! I had the pear walnut salad with salmon which is what I usually get along with the lentil soup and the Parmesan fries. Everything was outstanding.
For my birthday they brought out tiramisu which was really moist and flavorful. They didn’t put a candle in it though.
The only thing wrong with the experience was that a lot of the chairs were so worn and cracked. It’s really unpleasant to sit on especially when wearing a skirt or dress. And it wasn’t just one chair, there were about 5 or 6 at our table that were cracked and defective. When you’re paying this much money to dine out you would hope the chairs were in good condition. Other than that everything else was outstanding. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 is because some of the chairs were so bad.
I was going to try some of the pasta. However, they had a grilled chicken panini, which sounded amazing >
And it Was !!!
There were artichokes, the mozzarella was thick and fresh and the chicken was grilled perfectly with a fresh pesto sauce.
I chose a side of shoestring french fries which you can get also garlic Style.
And this location offers outside seating for a great atmosphere.
