Visiting Portland this last weekend coming from Seattle and made the usual stop at Luc Lac for a quick and tasty lunch. It’s a perfect lunch on a summer day as the flavors are good, but you won’t leave feeling so full when you are out exploring the city or about to sit in your car to drive 4+ hours home like us that day. We arrived close to 12pm on Sunday and had no wait with an option to sit either outside or inside. Last visit in 2022, we sat outside, so opted for inside this time. Order at the counter and then are assigned a table (E2) where you sit after getting your own utensils, water, etc. Service in this sense is almost non-existent and while the woman taking our order wasn’t mean by any way, she didn’t seem happy to be working. This only was noticeable as most other restaurants we visited in our trip, service seems very enthusiastic and friendly.

Luc Lac exceeded all my expectations. The restaurant is colored red with 3D art and floating umbrellas. When you walk in you order your food and drinks and then are seated. The drinks came out quickly with the food close behind. I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. The pork was tender and the fish sauce was tangy with a hint of sweetness. I got a chance to try the peanut chicken curry and low key wished I would have ordered it as well. If you love green tea, the Asian Vacation cocktail is your drink. Overall Luc Lac is a must if you’re in the downtown Portland area. The vibe is just right and the food speaks for itself.

Great atmosphere, quick service but the food isn’t anything great. The peanut curry was tasty but not a curry. The pork rice bowl lacked flavour. I don’t think the food matches up to the reviews.

Uniquely hip atmosphere, but most of all, one of the best pho I’ve had without exaggeration. There is usually a line, but it goes pretty fast. The most I’ve waited was maybe 15 min. Once you’re seated the food comes out fresh and pretty quickly. I love all the deco inside and also great friendly service. Also, their Vietnamese coffee is the most delicious! This place also has some other nice drink selections. Highly recommend this place!

We arrived to Portland late and wanted a late dinner somewhere close by our hotel. Luc lac was recommended by the hotel staff, they usually visit the restaurant after their shift. Vermicelli bowl and Pho was spot on. I heard the brisket was amazing. They have a whole system for dining in… we stood in line for about ten minutes to order, once we ordered they assigned us a table and someone brought our food and drinks to the table. Food was great, lighting for photos was not so great.

Luc Lac was recommended by the hotel we stayed at. And so glad we tried Luc Lac. Nearby location great/fun space and the food!!! Epic . I tried the rice plate combo and the portions are very generous. I love the Miraval splits-perfect for Portland summer. Definitely coming back.

Trendy restaurant in red. Was one of few places open late after we finished at Powel books as we were craving some Vietnamese after all the doughnuts and burgers we had. Exceeded our expectations as the portions were quite large but not the most thrifty place. Music was a bit on the louder side at night but very different from the usuall Vietnamese in a good way.

We came here to eat dinner tonight and I will say it was the best choice because it hit the spot. This pho place had Sriracha so need need to worry about the Sriracha shortage. We had to park on the street so just be aware of that. When we got to the restrauant, there was already a line to the door. Their layout is weird because the entrance line and exit line intersect so it’s just awkward. After we got to the host to put in our order, that’s where the fun began. I got the shrimp spring roll and asked for no spouts along with the pho with steak & brisket. My friend just got the pho steak & brisket and my wife got their chicken pho. My wife also got the Thai tea Creamosa which she totally loved. Our food came out quick like within 5 minutes. The spring rolls with their sauce was delicious and my pho totally hit the spot after I added Sriracha. My wife and my friend also enjoyed their dish and we all agree it was the right choice. You pay for your dish first before eating so that’s something different and they’ll find a table for you. They had outdoor seating as well but we got the bar seating which was fine because we saw the bartender make drinks in front of us. I got the Mexican coke in a glass bottle for my drink. I would highly recommend coming here if you want good Vietnamese food.

Stopped by Luc Lac since it was one of the few spots open in downtown Portland (10:40PM) on a weekday. I had stopped by 3-4 other spots prior and they either said kitchen was closed or randomly quoted an hour or two wait.
