When you have very high expectations of a place, it’s very easy to be disappointed. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me. Ever since I moved to Jacksonville, I’ve wanted to check this place out. I finally went, and it’s not what I imagined. It’s not really bad, but I wouldn’t say I’d ever go back. Maybe the service leaves a lot to be desired, and that’s because they were about to close, but that’s precisely why, when you go home, you happily serve your last customers. It may be an iconic place in Jax, very famous and steeped in history, but very good… so-so.

If you never tried Lubi’s…why not? The food is tasty and filling. Quick service, varies with the crowd level of course. Been here several times over the years. Always good!

I’ve been going to this Lubi’s for over 25 yrs now… And I have never, ever been disappointed.
Today I got the Mozzarella lubi & Fiesta Lubi, And both of them were absolute perfection as usual.
All 3 employees were sweet & personable & the entire place was impeccably clean, even the parking lot.
If you are craving something delicious & unique you can’t go wrong with Lubi’s

Delicious- first visit and so glad we stopped in. We were not really sure what to except but had heard it was a Jacksonville definite if you was a local food.
The sandwiches are steamed and smothered in toppings. It was a fork type eating meal – . We tried the original Lubi and Stroganoffs. Both great choices. We were asked do we want mayonnaise, mustard, or pepper added.
We were sure since we hadn’t tried them yet. So be prepared – but note they had plenty of initial topping and will be delicious either way.
There is a drive thru and inside ordering . Indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables under a covered roof. Staff were super friendly and very helpful.
The menu has other options than just Lubi subs.
Stop and give them a try!!
Easy access and plenty of parking.

I grew up eating Lubi’s subs. It was our go-to meal for lunch when I was going to Wolfson High School. Sadly, the university location is no longer there. But thank God for this beach location! Good ole chili sub with a cherry limeade!! Lubi’s recipes are still amazing 20 years later! Love love love this place!!

A gem for sure. I tried this place about 4 months ago. Fell in love with the Mozarella Lubi all the way as my first one was mind blowing. I’ve been chasing that high for months unfortunately, lol. They are quite hit and miss. The first few times I went, the Lubi’s were perfect, so I thought they were not hit and miss. But I must have gotten lucky and now it’s the other end of my luck as the last few have not hit the mark. The ingredients usually are all cooked well, but them being put together a certain way really matters and that first one I ever had NAILED IT. Today, the ingredients were sadly a miss as well. The beef that is usually smacking every time was not, the sauce was too heavily applied and tasted different. It’s just off now. I may never get that first Lubi high ever again 🙁 but it’s worth a damn standing ovation when you do get it.
P.S. the coleslaw is amazing and it’s absolutely worth getting a dog and slaw. Today they were out of it and I got chili which was meh.
Also the employees have always been extremely friendly and a great experience. There’s clearly a focus on that and it shows.
Kinda hoping the owner or something knows he’s got some people doing it REAL RIGHT and to encourage that as some are not quite right. I’m happy to vote if there’s any debate if you’ve got a kitchen conflict on how to do it lol. Makes me think my first Lubi might have been made by the owner himself or something because it was crafted to perfection man.

This was our first visit to Lubi’s, and we will definitely be back. I had the mozzarella and my wife had the stroganoff. I have never had a steamed sub before, but I was really surprised. It was delicious and filling! We will definitely be adding this to our list of go to places.

I must admit that I am a fan of Lubi’s since the late 1970’s
I had never had anything like a sloppy Joe with red sauce and sour cream. I giant limeade rounded everything off.
When I was a kid the only Lubi’s in town was over on University Blvd. I thought it was such a treat to go get one when we happened to be a million miles from home on the south side of town.
I love to go inside on Sunday morning and have eggs over easy, grits smoked link sausage and home fries. What a great country breakfast.
Congratulations to Nick for keeping the Beach Blvd location going and my hat is off to you for the wonderful job on the facelift inside.❤️
Congratulations, great job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I first pulled I thought they were closed. I thought it was impossible for a place this good to be open. BUT LOW & BEHOLD THEY WERE OPEN! The food is great & the people are extra friendly. I was in & out on the matter of seconds.

Lubi’s is a greasy spoon sandwich and breakfast joint with unique steamed sub combinations. I have been coming here since I was a child, and they’re still one of my favorite places to grab lunch when I’m wanting something fast that sticks to your ribs. All of their subs are tasty, but on my most recent visit I had the fiesta sub, which was just as delicious (and ugly) as I remembered it to be. Good potato salad too.
Friendly service and decent prices.
Drive thru + indoor dining area and shaded outdoor seating available.
