We arrived ro find the place empty, which isn’t usually a good sign, but we were there right before the lunch rush.
We sat at a booth, which as a taller/bigger guy I avoid as most of the time they aren’t comfortable but these were pretty good. The seat cushion wasn’t the best but I had room to sit comfortably.
The waitress couldn’t have been more pleasant. She took her time with getting us drinks and our food order. We were happy to see they had Coke Products.
We ordered a little bit of e everything from the menu. We ordered a large pizza with half pepperoni, an appetizer of Cheese Wiz Fries, a side of buttered bowtie pasta, a kids chicken w/fries and a cheesesteak with fried onions.
The cheese wiz fries were good. The fries were crispy which we prefer. The cheesesteak was really good and came with a pickle and chips. The kids chicken w/fries was real chicken cutlets pounded flat, breaded and fried. Great to see they don’t go to the processed meat frozen section for their kids meals.
The pizza was the star of the show. We did order a half pepperoni Pizza but it came out full pepperoni which was a little disappointing. The style of pizza is not NY Style but more Neapolitan Style. The fresh mozzarella may not be everyone’s favorite but it gives the pizza a very fresh taste that pairs well with the plum tomato pizza sauce which was on thr sweet side so it balanced out well. We did feel there was too much cheese on the pizza but that’s just our preference. The crust was fantastic. The soft pillowy dough was the best part.
I watched the pizzaiolo work the Brick Oven and he definitely knows his way around a wood fired Brick Oven. I saw him rotate and lift the pizza to the top of the oven where it is much hotter to hit the pizza with more heat. Really neat to see in person.
We really enjoyed our experience. If we are back in the area we will be sure to come back and try other items.
amazing!! The service was fantastic! Even when I called twice to change a few things, the person on the phone was very kind and
accommodating. Thank you! Highly recommend!
The restaurant was dark and didn’t feel very clean. At 7:00 PM on a Friday night, it was nearly empty, which says a lot. The details were disappointing: the lemon in my water was brown, the salad was wilted, and the rolls were unimpressive. The steak special was drowning in sauce, and the ravioli tasted like something straight from the frozen food aisle.
Both the waitress and cashier confirmed that nothing has changed — and won’t be changing — under the new ownership.
Dublin truly needs the old Luberto’s back. We miss Palma and Joe and the quality they brought to this place.
