We are a local family-owned business. Serendipitously, we met for the first time at this exact location! At the time it was called PJ Hanley’s. Now, 14 years later married with three kids, we are thrilled to start our new and exciting chapter. Back at the location where it all started , we are opening a tavern of our own! My husband & I go all the time. They are truly what a neighborhood restaurant should be. Delicious food, warm & professional staff. Caring about the community. A local that is aces all around. This corner restaurant is a lovely spacious place, with a large outdoor area with giant screens to watch sports. There is a back party space area with a fireplace. They host many family parties with kids. A very fun and positive place!

We booked a brunch on the day of the big snow storm in Brooklyn. They totally accommodated our constantly changing headcount. Also, the service was outstanding. Finally, most importantly, the food was excellent. It is a family oriented fun place to gather with friends. Well done!

Visited Luana’s with a friend recently and both the atmosphere, staff, and food were wonderful. The restaurant and bar were decorated for the holidays and had a comfortable and cozy vibe to it. While we had a reservation, there were seats available for walk-in’s on a Thursday evening. They had a mix of traditional American food, plus a good selection of drinks to choose from. We ordered the soft pretzel and some burgers, and enjoyed our meal. My friend has been before and had a few other items, which they liked. The staff were also incredibly welcoming and friendly, we didn’t feel rushed even after our meal was finished. Will definitely be back.

First and foremost, I want to say as a NYC foodie, to make a place as great as their food is the staff. With that being sent, each & every time I hope I get the waitress named Andrea. Waitressing at its finest. She was attentive, FRIENDLY and as a table of 5, she read everything on that menu as if she was making it for us herself! She also knew which drinks we would like just by us telling her very little about our taste! So professional and QUICK ON HER FEET! We will definitely be coming back and telling everyone we know, not only for the food but for her! We had all ordered the steak, three well done (DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME MIGHT I ADD) which is difficult in many restaurant. Two medium rare and not one complaint from anyone at our table. I’m also going to tell my friends at their magazine to come check this out! Also the outside was very nice and neat! Would love to sit back there again!

I liked this place a lot. The have a nice area for outdoor seating. Inside is comfortable also. It’s an airy space. Very family oriented. The Cocktails are wonderful. I had the Smoke Show, it was delicious. The Tavern fries were very good, with perfect crispness. The prices are reasonable. I would return to try other items on the menu

Beautiful classic bar area that lets in a ton of light. The interior dining area is huge with a nice back area. The outside seating is great and the canopy that covers the area is a huge plus. The servers and hostess are incredibly nice and accommodating as well.
The food ranges all over the place and everything looked and tasted amazing. Smash burger was out of this world.

The best pancakes I’ve ever had – the slight lemon flavor with berries makes for incredible flavor alongside the perfect texture. Oh, the other food (including dinner menu) is fantastic. Great drinks including phenomenal beer selection (and great Guinness pours). The outdoor patio is also amazing. Had the chance to watch the Wimbledon final here on the patio. 10/10 for everything!

Luana’s Tavern has a great vibe and is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood. One of the standout features is the large amount of outdoor seating—it’s perfect for enjoying a meal on a nice day without feeling cramped. The service was impressively fast and genuinely friendly, which added a welcoming touch to the experience.
As for the food, it was just okay. While everything was cooked well and presented nicely, most of the dishes seriously lacked flavor, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the overall atmosphere and service made the visit enjoyable enough that I’d still consider coming back—hopefully the kitchen tightens up the seasoning next time.

Normally I have zero complaints about Luana’s but tonight maybe it just wasn’t my night. Really wanted the steak but was blessed with a subpar piece of meat where it I had to trim off tons of fatty pieces and pieces with gristle that couldn’t be chewed. Felt like I lost 40% of the steak. Meal was super lack luster. Left very disappointed. Then after paying, I get a charge higher than the amount I paid for meal and tip, not sure what that’s about.

I loved my first visit here – the food was so delicious (I got the chicken sandwich and tavern fries!) and the staff is all so friendly. I love the story of this place and that it is family owned – you can tell they care about their customers! I sat outside and they had good music playing, a great atmosphere, and a big screen to watch the yankee game, and they are also super kid friendly and had toys and space for the kids to play outside which I thought was great! Growing up we always went to restaurants like that but I haven’t seen a place so kid-friendly in a while! I will definitely be back 🙂
