Reviews
We started with drinks, and they did not disappoint. The passion fruit pisco sour was very good, but the chilcano was truly exceptional—it felt just like having one in Peru.
The food was on another level. The makis, paired with their sauce, were outstanding. The leche de tigre was perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spice and acidity. We came specifically looking for the Chaufa Selvático, and it was absolutely delicious. The arroz con mariscos, served with ceviche, was equally impressive—fresh, flavorful, and well executed.
Overall, this restaurant delivers authentic flavors, great service, and an unforgettable experience. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to very soon.
Buuuut… the overall experience is overshadowed by aspects that cannot be overlooked:
Slow and distracted service:
– The staff seemed overwhelmed or poorly coordinated. On several occasions we waited a long time before being attended to or having our order taken, and when they finally did, we had to repeat ourselves multiple times.
Cleanliness and maintenance are a real problem here:
– The tables were poorly cleaned, often left with crumbs and food from the previous customers. Dishes and used items were not cleared away after each course, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. Staff should collect plates promptly and keep the tables tidy, both for current and future guests. Floors and corners also showed a lack of care, and in the restroom the toilet paper had run out, giving the impression that facilities are not properly maintained.
In summary, the restaurant deserves praise for its culinary offering: the dishes are flavorful, well balanced, and full of character. But to be fully recommendable, it urgently needs to improve customer service and cleanliness standards. If both aspects were balanced, it could be an excellent place.
We started with the Martini Amazónico – refreshing and unique, the perfect way to kick things off. Then we shared the Arroz con Mariscos Acevichado, which was absolutely delicious – generous seafood, fresh flavors, and that citrus touch was on point. Finished with a sangria that hit the spot.
The service was excellent – attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in what they do. We’ll definitely be back regularly.
If you’re in the Moonachie/Little Ferry area and craving authentic Peruvian food, this is the spot.
The positive:
1) very pleasant and intimate atmosphere.
2) helpful and accommodating staff
3) the food was fresh and savory
What made my rating lower:
1) small parking lot and no parking available
on the local roads. (Not L’Punto’s fault, but
be aware.)
2) made a 4:30 reservation, not seated until
5:05 pm.
3) loved the music, but it was way too loud.
We were constantly trying to talk over it
and it detracted from the atmosphere.
4) the sangria tasted more like alcohol and
less like a sweet and fruity drink. The staff
did replace it with something else.
5) while the appetizers were good, one appy
was brought out and then we waited 10
minutes later for the other two to be
served. Ditto for the main courses, 4 were
served and the the other three came out
10 minutes later.
We were told later that they were short staffed that evening, which can explain much of what occurred, but when you spend $400, you expect more.
