I’ve been driving by Lowell’s for years and finally wandered in one slow Tuesday, just lookin’ for a solid home-cooked meal. That place feels like folks either grew up next door or maybe just popped in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—there’s no pressure, just good food and comfy vibes. The menu’s massive—Italian favorites like chicken parm, lasagna, and eggplant parm share space with seafood specials, lamb shanks, breakfast classics, burgers—all served any time of day .
What grabbed me most was the kindness behind the counter. One reviewer said the staff “made us feel like guests in their home,” and I got that vibe right away . The portions? Generous enough to send you home with lunch for tomorrow. Someone came right up to us with a smile and water, and the place felt clean and friendly .
Sure, I’m not blind to complaints—some folks grumbled about prices or a missed greeting . But for me, the good far outweighs the grumbles. You get that real-deal comfort food with honest service, all without fancy airs. If you’re looking for a reliable, neighborhood spot with hearty meals and a welcoming feel, Lowell’s hits the mark easy. Plus they always stab the burgers to make sure they’re dead.

This is a really good family style restaurant. Great to bring several generations together and there is a private back room for large groups.
Food is delicious, menu is huge, service is great and very friendly.
Prices are very decent and they are great accommodating changes to your order.
This place is almost like a hidden gem in the area. People should be lining up outside to eat here.
My favorite thing is that the brunch/breakfast menu is available everyday at all times. ❤️

A pretty decent sized breakfast is less than $15/person. The food is average. We thought the potatoes could have used more seasoning. The pancakes were better than some other diners, but a bit dry/tasteless.
I’d go back for the sake of someone else cooking me breakfast, even with my rating being 3 stars.

Lowell’s is like the mom and pop place you grew up with. The atmosphere is older but clean. I find it very welcoming. The staff are always friendly. They have a great breakfast menu and an American/Italian fare for dinner. I have never had a bad meal here. Today I had a simple bacon, double egg and cheese sandwich and a single pancake. Check out the pictures. The sandwich was bacon art and the pancake was cooked perfect. Not to mention a hot mug of coffee that the waitress checks to top you off. Overall, the juice is worth the squeeze. They’ve been consistent with me!

I meet with my book club here monthly and we have never had a bad meal. The food is really good and the service is wonderful. We especially love that we can order pancakes for dinner!

Lowell’s Restaurant has been serving Mendon since 1913. Freeman Lowell began with milk delivery & eventually founded Lowell’s Dairy, adding ice cream & growing the business. The restaurant gained popularity in the 1970s & changed hands in 1987. A 2004 fire led to a rebuild, & Lowell’s reopened in 2005. I grabbed takeout there & had a great veggie sausage omelette with home fries & a grilled English muffin. I’d definitely return to try out lunch & dinner.

We ordered Hungry mans breakfast and Teriyaki steak tips. The portions are large. I could only finish half of my teriyaki tips. The flavor compound is great. The pancakes on the Hungry mans breakfast were a bit chewy. I like the fluffy ones better. We ended up taking two boxes of leftovers. Since it was a working day almost most of the crowd was from the Senior citizen age group. It was a lovely vibe.

I like the Lowell’s Restaurant. I had a pleasant dinner. The menu has a huge assortment of foods. Breakfast even at night. The environment is nice and the people were friendly. The service is good paced. I ordered the Seafood Supreme Platter with sides of sweet potatoes fries and onions rings. It tasted very good and the size of the meal was big. It could feed two people with extra to take home. It was not greasy. I will have to come back to try something else on the menu.

Hello from Barren County, Kentucky!
My wife Jo-Ann and I took her Mom to Lowell’s for a Seafood Platter Supreme, it was FANTASTIC! In fact, the food and service was so good that we took our friends to Lowell’s the very next day for lunch, and this time I tried one of their burgers (Cowboy Burger) , it was AWESOME!
Great food, very friendly staff. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

If I could give it no stars I would.
Service was slow, our waitress was very nice though. The food was absolutely terrible. My wife and I both couldn’t finish our breakfast due to the taste and the look of it. I’d recommend any other place besides here for breakfast. Dunkin’ Donuts has a better breakfast than this place. Nothing was fresh and very over priced. Everything tasted like it was canned.
