Loved this little shop! It was very clean. And I assume it was the owner at the register, he was kind. Food is affordable! I got their teriyaki beef sandwich (delicious!) and a few of the buns which was also very good! I liked how the price of everything of there for you to see it. I will be a returning customer.

This is used to be China Star restaurant. Current owner owns the bakery next door and she owns both businesses. Chinese food is good because the same cooks are still there and decent price. I love their roast duck and crispy pork belly.

Don’t let the simple name fool you, this place is anything but! The food is fresh and delicious, some of the best pho I’ve had. They also have a great variety of steamed buns, cake, and amazing Chinese staples.

I’ve had bate sandwich over 20 years but they don’t use crusty french bread or butter. Tastes ok but not the original 🙁

I used to live in NYC and always went to Chinatown for my Pork Buns. With numerous relocations in my life I could never find Pork Buns ANYWHERE! When I relocated to MA (not too far from Boston) I assumed that the Boston Chinatown might be a place to explore and finally find an authentic Asian Bakery. Traffic and parking was a big consideration. I googled “Pork Buns” and was surprised to find the LOWELL ASIAN BAKERY, which was much closer to where I live. The menu online was unbelievably long with options showing it was much more than just a bakery. When I got there I couldn’t stop smiling. Before even entering the aroma drew me inside where, to my surprise, were shelves of pastries, cakes, buns, etc. Also, a kitchen where they prepared food (take out/eat in) for customers. I was handed a large bowl and explored the varieties (individually wrapped), picking and choosing my Pork Buns, as well as a few I had to try. I also ordered the House Lo Mien (extra spicy, please).

Good tasted good but the portions were very small, especially the chicken fingers. They were more like chicken nuggets. Definitely better options in the area.

I got the Beef lok lak and my partner got the C21 combination plate. My partner thought his food was alright. I thought my food was great. I was a little sad that it didnt come with rice, but the food I was given was a huge portion, and everything tasted great. I also grabbed many of the pastries. I tried the fried dough pastry (plainly sweet but good), coco-bread cream pastry (very good), and the custard bun (custard was good but the inside of the bun was dry). Mind you, I grabbed these around 9:15pm so im not complaining. What I actually came there for were the pork buns and was surprised to find chicken teriyaki buns too. Im too full so I’ll be trying those later 🙂 im glad i dont have to drive in to Boston for these buns. they were a bit pricier than Boston, but worth the short 20 minute drive.
