The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY! I really wanted to love this place BUT… So first the GOOD: I loved the street atmosphere which has a rustic street Café feel to it. The prices are very reasonable, considering the location and proximity to the cattle drive on exchange street. Now the BAD: we waited 27 minutes for a hotdog and hamburger with fries. There were five customers in front of us and the place was barely occupied. The food was not even lukewarm. It tasted like it had been sitting for at least 15 minutes unattended. My hotdog was so cold that the cheese they sprinkled on top of it never even melted it. The chili on the hotdog had no flavor whatsoever. The hamburger was average, but it was definitely cold. It seemed to us that they waited on the french fries to get done before they served the meal and that’s why everything was cold. We didn’t bother to complain because we didn’t have 27 more minutes to wait on another round. Finally the UGLY… I would definitely skip this place. It’s unfortunate because I really did like the atmosphere!

If you’re lucky enough to snag a table upstairs at the Love Shack, you’ll have one of the best views in the Stockyards. Watching all the people walking up and down Exchange Street is half the entertainment—truly a great spot for people-watching!
While Love Shack only offers beer and canned drinks, it’s easy to step right next door to order a cocktail from the bar, so you still have plenty of drink options. There was a live band playing during our visit, and they were genuinely good—great energy and added a fun atmosphere without being too loud.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. A casual spot with good vibes, great views, and a little bit of everything happening around you. Would definitely go again!

We were wandering the Stockyards over the summer, aka the surface of the sun season down there, and got lured into The Love Shack by the misting fans and the live music.
There were six of us (three adults, three kids) and we somehow scored a table off to the side where we could regroup, breathe, and debate whether we actually wanted food or just ice water forever. Ended up grabbing a quick bite and drinks and just hung out long enough to feel human again.
The staff was super friendly, the live music was great, and the whole scene made us feel like we were living the real “Texas experience” we’d hoped for. Burgers, music, people, lots of sweat…. but totally worth it.
Perfect little stop to cool off and reset before braving the heat again.
Would totally go back… preferably when it’s not 900 degrees outside

This is a very cool place. Staff is friendly. But that’s it. Friday for lunch it was not busy. They said 15 minutes for burgers, fries, and nachos. It took 45 minutes. Worst nachos I’ve had in my life. Extremely slow kitchen. Only reason to eat here is because of location. Anywhere else it would close up in no time

Went here during lunch hours during the holiday, and it was pretty dead. I was the only one there. The hostess was very sweet though, and recommended a few things. I got a burger, chips, and some chicken tenders. The burger was ok, nothing to write home about, not much flavor, especially for the price. But I did like how the housemade chips came out warm. The tenders weren’t that impressive in flavor, but were hot and juicy. I understand the atmosphere was going for a rustic vibe, but the place seemed dirty. Dirty tables, floors, etc. Which was interesting since there didn’t seem to be any rush to keep things clean. The layout of the place was odd, but figured they were mostly drink/bar focused, and not so much food based. They have live music which is nice, maybe they’re busier more towards the evening? Overall, it’s fine to grab a drink or something, but I wouldn’t go back just for the food, and a bit disappointed with the cleanliness.

We were at the Fort Worth Music Festival, and the Love Shack was one of the participating venues that supported live music…so we decided to try some of their food. Sooo glad we did! Burgers, fries…and cold beer! Loved it! They’re located just across the bricks from the rodeo arena! Great location, even better food!

Little spot in an alleyway between two buildings on the main drag at the stockyards. Burger was nothing special, French fries were soggy. I was the only person in the restaurant and food order took 20 mins. Lady working in the front counter was nice.

Great burgers and fries!!! The love sauce is sooo yummy!! The burger was really delicious. The fries were fresh cut and perfectly cooked. The buns are thin, which is my favorite. They are set on the grill for a tiny bit and had a little crunch to them.

Love Shack is a very laid back unique restaurant with live music. It’s nestled between two building and is half covered and half open. There is no AC but it is shaded. Burgers looked good but we did not order any food, we were there for the music and drinks. It’s worth the stop.
