This place is really cozy, and the service is excellent! However, the tempura sushi was too thick and heavy. The pieces were so large that I couldn’t fit them in one bite.
On the positive side, the raw sushi was very fresh and delicious. Overall, a nice experience with room for improvement.

Finding a hair in my sushi immediately ruined my appetite. The response made it worse — both the server and manager were monotone and dismissive, treating it like it wasn’t a serious issue. Although the roll was remade, no compensation was offered because I “still ate it,” despite being clearly uncomfortable.
Adding to the concern, the sushi chef had long hair and was not wearing a hairnet. I’m not saying the hair came from the chef, but for a restaurant serving raw fish, basic hygiene and professionalism matter. I won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to be cautious about hair in their food.

We come here all the time, it’s super close to home and right by Burn Bootcamp and Turmeric Hut. Their happy hour is early (like, done by 5:30) but it’s perfect for a quick sushi + appetizer situation that won’t break the bank. The bento boxes are great, and the sashimi salad has a surprisingly big portion of fish. My son devours the salmon rolls every time, so it’s one of those places where we all leave happy. Servers can be a little down but maybe they’re just bummed they don’t get to eat while we do?! Lol. The sushi is yummy. Glad to have a good neighborhood sushi spot.

I’ve been to Love Boat Sushi in Oceanside a few times and it’s become one of my go-to spots. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are well-made, and the prices are fair. I really like sitting at the sushi bar because the chefs are friendly and it’s fun to watch them work. It can get busy, but the service is quick. If you’re in the area and craving sushi, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

So delicious and fresh! We went here for my daughters graduation. The wait was supposed to be about 45 minutes but it only took 20. The fish was extremely fresh. We love the geisha roll, the dynamite, and more. So many delicious ones to choose from! They also have fresh Wasabi for $3. They do charge a gratituity of 20% over parties or 6.

Decent place if your having a bit of a sushi regression and need to get your fix immediately. The Miso soup was outstanding, but teriyaki chicken could have used some love.. like use a whole chicken breast. Our teriyaki chicken plate had the quantity of maybe 1/2 of a breast… probably less. The flavor was there, just not the amount you’d expect.

We used to love coming to Love Boat Sushi when our family lived in Oceanside. It was always the go-to spot for birthdays because of the fun, lively atmosphere and unforgettable celebrations. Now that we’ve moved, we were so excited to return and celebrate three family birthdays here, hoping to relive those memories.
Before our visit, we even read the Google AI summary describing Love Boat’s famous birthday experience the lights dimming, staff singing and clapping, and music playing. That was exactly what we remembered and looked forward to.
Sadly, things have changed. We called ahead to make a reservation, but were told they no longer take them. We sat quickly with only two other tables. Service was slow, and after waiting over an hour and a half, and promising our guests the best birthday surprise, our “birthday dessert” was three small chocolate-dipped cookies with candles quietly placed on the table. No song, no lights, no celebration.
The sushi was good, but the magic that once made Love Boat a special place to celebrate is gone. I truly hope they bring it back.

Our family had an incredible experience at Love Boat Sushi! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with their superior service and genuine hospitality. Everything ran smoothly, and the team went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable — even with our two kids in tow.
We ordered the Deluxe Combo for 3–4 people, and it was absolutely perfect for our family of four. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were generous, and every piece of sushi was fresh and delicious. We also added Chicken Katsu on the side, which our kids loved, and were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary edamame to start off our meal.
It’s rare to find a sushi spot that balances quality, value, and family-friendly service this well. We’ll definitely be back — Love Boat Sushi just earned a permanent spot on our family dining list!

I visited this place today, and unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the front entrance server, Marc. From the moment I arrived, he completely ignored me, making me feel unwelcome. When I tried to ask questions about a particular roll to decide what to order, he was rude and sarcastic, treating me like an inconvenience rather than a customer.
To make matters worse, when my food arrived, it was exactly what I explicitly told him I did not want, which shows he wasn’t paying attention at all. Service like this is unacceptable and overshadows the food itself. I hope management addresses Marc’s behavior because the restaurant has potential, but customer service needs to be a priority.
