Lou’s Takeaway is truly such a gem. People are lined up right when it opens and the wait is not too long (I waited 20 minutes and was one of the first people on queue) for the quality of the food- made with effort and love. I got a fried chicken dish and it was absolutely delicious, almost cried lol. The portions are generous so the price point is more than reasonable; you could probably make 2 meals out of what you’re served. Every day the menu is different so they have many treasures to offer! Can’t wait to come again and bring loved ones!

Lou’s Takeaway is easily one of my favorite food spots in Marin. The food is absolutely out of this world. It’s packed with flavor, consistently excellent, and clearly made with a lot of care. Every dish I’ve had has been memorable.
I really appreciate the revolving menu. It keeps things interesting and gives you a reason to come back often. You never feel bored ordering here.
My only “complaints” are that they’re not open seven days a week, and once I called to order shortly after opening only to find they were already completely sold out. But honestly, that just proves how good the food is and how many people are lining up for it.
If you can catch them while they’re open and before they sell out, it’s 100 percent worth it. Highly recommend.

Our favorite “treat yo self” lunch spot. Do not come if you’re seeking a “quick fix” for your hunger. Good food takes time to prepare. The care & creativity of the takeaway plates have always satisfied our deepest cravings. Thank you to Lou & the team for always preparing such good meals for the soul. Also, sometimes the owner comes out to greet us as we’re waiting in line. Little things like that make it a true neighborhood joint.

oh god i don’t think i’ve ever waffled down food as fast as I ever have than with Lou’s. their pork belly is amazing & the sauce coated the rice so well. tantalised myself with the monterey bay squid salad too & it was so fresh & cooked perfectly. delightful!

Everything about this place merits FIVE STARS ⭐️. It’s a uniquely DELICIOUS experience. Hector was very personable and fun – genuine positive energy, even gave me a sample to try before purchase (first time customer). The food is extremely fresh with an authentic signature taste. This little unassuming food joint is filled with big things: positive energy, exemplary customer service, easy parking, adequate portion size, the food is prepared with loving intention, and you can taste it!

It took a pandemic to get us out of our Saturday lunch rut. We’d been wanting to try Lou’s and suddenly it was the only place nearby to get a meal. We’ve hardly eaten anywhere else since ! Wow! Lou’s is incredible. Ordered here for the first time since moving to Marin and I can’t believe we didn’t come sooner. Everything is unique, seasoned incredibly, and just straight delicious! I would recommend Lou’s to anyone – it is perfectly authentic. Lou is also so kind – gave us his dads homemade plum jam to try. A local gem – best spot we’ve visited in Marin thus far!
