I came in for lunch today, not my first visit here but when I work in Elfin Forest this is one of the nearest taco shops; I have tried their burritos before and I can’t complain about the quality and taste of the food but the quantity is ridiculous for the OUTRAGES PRICES. I once bought a carnitas burrito and was practically a folded tortilla with little to nothing meat. I came in today asking their biggest burrito they said it was the california burrito I asked for that and asked for extra meat +$3 to assure it will get me full I also told the cashier about the other burrito and she said it was like that because carnitas burrito only had “2 ingredients”. Lol. Well I paid $21 for this california burrito with “extra meat” , this is what I got. I guess maybe this prices reflect on the wealthy community around this area. OVERPRICED FOR THE PORTION IN MY OPINION. Will not be comming back here.

Very upset. Made notes in doordash with how many hot sauce we would like. This has happened multiple times where they don’t provide what we asked for or any at all, so I called last time to ask what I need to do in order to get my hot sauces provided when ordering through doordash… followed woman’s instructions from phone and sure enough this time I ordered they only gave me 1/2 of what I asked for.

1 burrito was $18!!!!!! I think you can provide me with hot sauce for it! It’s absolutely ridiculous to not take care of your customers that are ordering through doordash when they are already paying a premium on each burrito.

This has put a horrible taste in my mouth with this restaurant that they cant give hot sauce. I’m not sure about you, but my burrito is ruined without hot sauce and definitely not worth the $18 I paid for 1 burrito and now have no hot sauce for it.

As many have mentioned, it’s the price.
The location for this restaurant is perfect, but it services a wealthy community, and as predicted, the food quality is anything BUT authentic.
They know these people will pay top dollar, so unfortunately, they don’t really care for the quality.

The Caldo de Pollo was very disappointing.
I think they wanted to double-check to make sure the chicken was dead, so they made sure to cook it bone dry just in case.
Was chewing on that thing as if it was days-old dry gum under the sun.

They also didn’t bother shredding the chicken in the soup.
They just threw a large piece of bland meat there the size of the palm of your hand and said, ” Bon Appetit.”
The rice had been undercooked and was lacking flavor.

Everything else was fine.
Like I said, the location is great, but for that price, at the very LEAST, it should be good.

Didn’t even come with a drink

San Diego Taco Series, Part 3
If you saw the name of this location and wondered if it was in any way related to the Lourdes in Escondido, then you are tonight’s Grand Prize Winner! (Details for how to claim your prize are included at the end of this post. )

A few years back Lourdes may have added this San Elijo Hills location, but fear not. They packed all of their quality recipes into the moving trucks and brought them along. Their new digs offer indoor and outdoor seating and the Reggaeton music they played during our visit matched the vibe really well.

While the Chicken Rolled Tacos were…fine, the story of this visit is the Grilled Chicken, Carnitas, and Grilled Fish Tacos. All three are worth driving for. And speaking of worth the drive (Grand Prize spoiler alert), the Caldo de Pollo (Chicken Soup) is REALLY good. Although we do remember this review is focused on tacos, we couldn’t overlook an opportunity to shine a light on this item. While we wish all of our readers only the best, if you do find yourself feeling under the weather, several Review Team Members speak from personal experience when attesting to the healing qualities of the Caldo de Pollo.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.

Biked here with a friend, we both got the California Burrito. The food was great, and the service was instant! A little pricy though, but overall a great spot.

Great place for some delicious mole! And so many other delicious meals. The food quality is great. One thing that stands out from other restaurants/taco shops like this is that the food isn’t overly salty. It is flavorful and always cooked just right.

The staff is very friendly and the location is easy to get to and park. Check it out.

I walked in with a big appetite. All I wanted was a simple bean and cheese burrito. Then I saw the price. TEN DOLLARS FOR SOME BEANS AND CHEESE?!!!! That is insanity!
I will not go back.

I came before a few times without issue, but this was my last. Called ahead and gave them like 10 minutes to prepare a carne asada burrito, just so i don’t need to wait around a long time. They were kind of busy when i came, the burrito was already prepared. And it was the most tiny burrito i have ever seen in all of san diego! It was more tortilla than burrito. Go to kotija if you’re in the area, better portions, better salsa.

Pretty good Mexican food.
Decent guacamole, tasty carne asada burrito, and good chicken tortilla soup. They have a nice spot with a pleasant outdoor area that gets shaded in the afternoon / evening.
They claim the chicken soup is the best in town. I’m not sure whether that’s true but it had good chicken flavor and a nice little spice kick (but not too much). I’d give a thumbs up.
My only reason for not giving five stars is that I wasn’t big on the chips. That’s a preference thing, but I like my chips a little lighter and saltier.
