Our History
Joe Dion was the founder of Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken. Dion came to Los Angeles from Michigan in 1957 with nothing in pockets and inclination to work in restaurants. After a month in his garage with a 30 pound fryer, experimenting with a recipe he says he obtained from New Orleans chef Paul Prudhomme, he arrived at a product chicken in a Zesty Cajun batter fried to a soft crunch and finished with a slight, spicy heat.
Over a decade of involvement with Jack-in-the-Box and Pioneer Chicken franchises, Joe decided to start his own. Over a year in development, LOUISIANA FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN was born out of many research trips to New Orleans and experimentation in the family carport. The first store opened in August of 1976 in
Louisiana-style fried chicken is the specialty of this fast-food chain also serving Southern sides.

I actually liked this place a lot they have great food and a great location they cook to order so your food is always fresh and smoking hot out the grease however one of my pieces of chicken still have blood in it so y’all might want to start cooking a little longer other than that great job everyone and the tartar sauce with super duper delicious

Nah….. This was not it. I’ve had Louisiana Famous Chicken before in DFW. I got it from the Midway location and it was wonderful! This one though fell real short. Wr got a 12 piece meal and 3 tender combo. The food was bland. You could tell they used a hot marinade but that was it. Not seasoning at all. They didn’t season the flour or chicken. The fries and hush puppies were supposed to be a large but was more like a small. This was not good. The only positive was the service by the gentleman working the window and front register by himself. Try it for yourself. I won’t go back to this location!

Ummm Had I seen the bathroom before the food… we wouldn’t have eaten here.
The chicken was actually very well cooked. Not dry or over breaded. Really good fried chicken.

The chicken was fresh and delicious, and generous portions. I’d recommend the food, but if you’re in a hurry maybe not.

I wanted fried rice, and I also wanted fried chicken, so they made me fried rice with a wing on top. Absolutely delicious.
Really good chicken… I believe they will give Popeyes a run for their money.

First time trying and the guy at the drive thru window was super nice and friendly and my fish came out piping hot and my jalapeño cheese poppers were also fresh out the fryer I can say I was super happy about the quality. The only complaint I have is that the prices on the online webpage are not current with the actual menus prices at the restaurant but other than that everything was good

Today I had the 3-piece meal with red beans & rice and a roll. The beans & rice was decent but could have used a bit more cornstarch to thicken it up. The chicken was actually pretty tasty, with a decent crunch and just enough seasoning. I’ll have to come back and try other items.

When I walked in the floor was so sticky my shoes were making a music symphony. They tried to get my order right. (Language barrier) but the food was crispy and good. Just could use a bit more cleaning as a restaurant!
