They sold us what they called “Gumbo “ and I know for a fact it’s been sitting in a lot all day it wasn’t fresh at all… it was Bland and gave us really bad stomach issues.
Nothing about their food seems to be Authentic
It had basically just rice and celery
We had Gumbo and The Jambalaya I could tell was reheated. The corn muffin was cold and hard as well as BLAND
It was a complete waste of money. It seem like Jail food of scraps.
Very disappointed.

The building is currently under renovation, so you will have to get takeout. It’s so good though that it doesn’t matter where you eat it. We got the seafood gumbo, greens, and rice and beans with sausage and everything was delicious.

Don’t know what happened. Been coming there for years. Haven’t been in since June, but somthins different with the sausage in the red beans/ texture wise or cut… and it has a lil more heat than usual. And the corn muffins are off. I would often just come for the muffins to go with dinners I would cook. They’re not the best muffins but they were exclusive. Hopefully it was just today.

Those GREENS! It ain’t butter, it ain’t salt, it ain’t bacon. I’m not joking when I say, I could eat a bucket of nothing but those collard greens. What’s in them? How are they so damned good? What kind of wizardry is this? The food is eye-watering amazing, fresh, delicious and a feast for all your senses. I have 2 stars for atmosphere because they are still remodeling and it’s an awkward situation inside.

My co-workers told me about this place & I ordered Fried fish (A la Carte), greens and yams. The fish was very small and thin and I had more batter than fish. The greens and yams were very good also the corn bread that came along with it. I was kind of upset that I paid $7.95 (doordash) for the fish but it is what it is. I still plan on trying something different from this restaurant.

The red beans & rice was delicious. The mac and cheese was okay. Needed more cheese for me. The seafood creole didn’t do it for me. They were out of the gumbo, so I will be back to try that.

Because LCG is a neighborhood staple I will not directly DRAG this place
( clears throat) however the quality of the products used and the attitude from the staff sorta reminds me of a LANDFILL so if you’re in the mood for an overall trashy experience check this place out.

To Ownership : You should be ashamed of serving the community of which you serve such bottom barrel quality food . I mean for goodness sake look at the posted pics ( catfish seafood gumbo), do better.

I’ve been here multiple times and it required me to return without reservations . However this time 10/26/25 3pm I ordered 2 chicken gumbos and they were absolute trash. I’ve never in my life seen celery gumbo with chicken the “roux” was absent. I make better gumbo than what was given to me and my wife.
I will return one more time in the future and if it’s not corrected I’m done.

This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. I’ve lived in the south for well over 16 years, I’m west Indian and I’ve also enjoyed authentic Louisiana cooking. I can throw down in the kitchen and I’ve enjoyed great southern food as well. Let’s just say this however was not that. Talk about a disappointment. With a name like “Louisiana Creole Gumbo” me and my stomach were expecting delicious authentic food.

I entered the restaurant and was about to order from the self service kiosk but after a few minutes I was greeted and a lady at the counter took my order. The customer service was fine I’d say, as the menu options were explained and the food came fast. However the lack of flavor was the issue.

To begin the collard greens had absolutely no seasoning, not one smoked neck bone or meat morsel. Not one pepper flake or dust in sight. The macaroni and cheese was mushy, oily and lacked flavor.
To add insult to injury was the gumbo supreme. It tasted like someone tried to doctor up some Campbell’s tomato soup, by adding celery, rice etc. I said to myself Lord , not even authentic andoullie sausage? The sausage they used no lie was similar to Vienna sausages. Shrimp was overcooked and the whole combo just lacked that true flavor.

While initially it looked promising, the corn bread was bland and solid as a rock smh. I literally broke it in half took a bite and had to just spit it out. This whole experience was especially disappointing as I make it a point to support black businesses however the quality just wasn’t there. Whoever is in that kitchen needs to take some cooking lessons because they are putting the namesake of the restaurant to shame. I ended up just trashing the majority of the food, talk about a waste.

I only liked the po boy. The food was watery to me there was no roux used to make the gumbo so the flavor was not there for me. It was like old school Campbell soup. The jambalaya was a good flavor but it look and tasted as if they threw the shrimp on after it was thawed out. .
