I have ordered from louies for years and I have enjoyed pizza, dinners and grinders. But this last time feb 2026 was not good at all. Didnt follow instructions. And the instructions not complicated . When I called about my order I could tell different owners and they think they make orders right and debate. Im not the one to debate especially if I pay almost 40 dollars on grinders. Don’t play…louies fell off. BIG TIME. I told the guy I’m going to post a review and I don’t normally do.He didnt care. That’s telling especially from a patron from years. Do better ✌️

At one point I ordered all the time. I was never a fan of pastrami but their pastrami grinder was a1. I ordered a few times, and they got my order completely wrong, deciding to do whatever they wanted with the sandwich. I can’t take shredded lettuce off. None of the toppings I had asked for were on my sandwich, and when I called, the lady just apologized. I would not be ordering again, as this been happening a few times to me & now they finally lost a consistent customer.

If you are looking for a Greek style pizza, this place makes a pretty solid pie. Could have used a bit more sauce on the pie and their meatball topping was a bit dry, overall it was tasty. The salad was huge and very filling!

On a Positive Note: The Louie’s special is always hot and tasty.
Today I noticed I was charged more than I usually pay, $17.18. While I usually pay with cash, today I paid with a credit card. The cashier balled up my receipt without asking me if I wanted it. I requested a receipt which required her to re-print it.
When I noticed the increase in price, I asked about it and she explained that it was because I used a credit card. I asked her if that was legal? Her response was ,”Yeah, I think so:” ♀️ Then her and the other female behind the counter, began to discuss my inquiry as though I could not hear them.
The Verdict: The pizza and the cheesecake are both delicious. BEWARE, you will get charged a higher amount if you pay with a credit card.
I noticed this practice with another restaurant in Waterbury, unlike Louie’s the other place boldy displays the price difference on the receipt. The cashier at Louie’s balled my receipt and tossed it in the trash. Thereafter, upon request, she printed a receipt for me.
My credit card needs to be credited $.52.

My favorite, chicken bacon ranchwith a side of big perfect onion rings fried right‼️ ,or the biggest helping of perfect fries

Louie’s is falling off. I recently visited my childhood favorite pizza place and ordered a pepperoni grinder and medium pizza only to be met with a bread sandwich with some mayo. The grinder is $11 and as advertised as “the best grinders in Waterbury” I’d beg to differ, OK at best.

I’m from upstate NY, so my bar for pizza is pretty high. I ordered through Slice.com, and even though it said the order had been received, the shop didn’t get my order. Which I didn’t know until I called to ask where it was.
They were so nice on the phone, apologized for the inconvenience, but advised me to call slice.
As soon as slice called Louies, they called me to confirm my order.
They had it here within 30 minutes.
The crust is thinner (but not thin) and crispy. Not greasy at all!
The sauce is herby, I’m used to a sweeter sauce, but it is really good.
I ordered Greek but replaced feta with ricotta, and added chicken.
So I’m in my hotel room inhaling pizza, very happy.

We stopped in before seeing a show at the Palace theater. They were quite busy, but we were immediately greeted and offered seats or takeout. We dined in, ordered mozzarella sticks and a large half and half pizza, house special ( no mushrooms for allergy), and the other half meatlovers. The mozzarella sticks were huge and good, made there, I think. The pizza was FANTASTIC, one of the top 5 I’ve ever eaten loaded with meats and veggies. Our waitress was a hard worker, managing the phones, tables, and pick-up orders. If we lived closer, we’d be a regular.

I just love Louie’s! Good flavor, they have such amazing sauce. My Mom used to take my brothers & I here a lot as kids and we loved it. We still do. Some of our best dining out memories were at Louie’s. Not to mention his pizza, calzone, salads, & grinders are the best around. & of course the cheesecake is amazing, probably the best I’ve ever had. Thank you Louie’s for keeping it delicious for decades!!
