I‘ll give this place another chance because let’s face it – there’s not that many options around these parts for Chinese food – but it was a mixed bag. Picked up as a to-go order early on a Wednesday evening, called ahead 25min, still had to wait more than 10min upon arrival. The sesame chicken had clearly been fried in old oil and that’s basically all I could taste. They really need to change the fryer oil more frequently. The taste permeated the “egg rolls” as well, if you’d even go so far as to call them that. They should know better than to wrap 3 pieces of shredded cabbage in too much spring roll and call it an egg roll. Come on. The only redeeming dish was the angel hair chow mein. Do better.

We happened to find this place near our hotel. It is a small restaurant with more than 10 tables. The waitress and the crew were very kind and helped us feel comfortable since they knew we were not from the area. The food we ordered was good and delicious. We were there for lunch and picked up food for dinner. The amount of food was sufficient, and the price was reasonable. It was a good experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

Our first visit to Louie’s. We were greeted and seated right as we walked in the door by friendly staff. The food service was fast. I “test” a new (to me) Chinese restaurant by ordering beef chow fun with hot and sour soup. Both had me wanting to come back for more. Portion sizes were large enough to also have some for take home. Staff checked on us multiple times make sure everything was good. We’ll be back!

I called in an order, General Chicken, Chicken chow mien, and shrimp fried rice. It was really good. Chow mien was made with angel pasta which was different but still good. I will order from this place again.

This message is PERSONALLY for the management/ownership of this restaurant only. I believe that the owner of this restaurant was also the owner’s son of the original “Mandarin Garden” in south lake tahoe that moved to this location. I heard the son opened a location in gardenrville or something. Although could be the son’s and son’s children now, its been so long since they moved from tahoe, like in 1997… Dont know if thats you guys. But if you guys would be interested in aquiring another location, you guys let us know. My family is looking to retire and i have no interest in taking over. Thanks, and i hope business is going well! Sun Nein Fi Lok, Gong Hey Fat Choy, Sun Tai Gein Hong! I feel there’s also an additional phrase added to that as well, but i can’t remember it right now.

Been a customer for over 20 years. Used to to packed all the time and for a day night it was nearly empty. People are all wonderful however food has gotten so bad we won’t be returning. Cold, tasteless and stale. Am very sad.

This place was amazing! I’ve heard about it from many locals, and when I finally got the chance to go, it didn’t disappoint. I had sesame chicken, pineapple fried rice, chicken chow mein and potstickers. Everything was so delicious and the service was great too!
