Tried Louie’s Hot Chicken & Barbecue for the first time and wasn’t very impressed. The service was great and the woman at the counter was very nice, but the food didn’t match the price. The plate felt small, with tiny side portion cups. The green beans were well seasoned, but the mac and cheese was bland.
I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (mild). It was a good size but very greasy and lacked flavor. For $15, I expected more. I might try something different if I go back, but overall it didn’t stand out.

If you love Hot Chicken and flavor this is your spot. They have a big Ol mess of a sandwhich that hits the spot everytime!
Other’s in my family eat their smoked winds, brisket, and pulled pork and those options are just as fire.Sides are pretty good as well. Portions are huge for the meat options. Definitely have leftovers if you want. Not a big dine in space, I would assume most orders are to go. They do have a picnic table area outside thats nice in summer. Nice group of guys in there just enjoying making good food for people. Check them out you wont be disappointed!

I can across this place in my search for Nashville hot chicken in the area. It’s a super small space with about 8 seats. You can eat in or take out. They have barbecue options such as pulled chicken and pulled pork, which I’ll come back to try. But I wanted to the hot chicken. It comes with pickles and coleslaw on the sandwich, and was tasty. I enjoyed it very much. The service was fast and friendly too.

Was here for dinner and enjoyed it. Irdered 1/4lb brisket, smoked wings, Mac and cheese and the hot chicken sandwich. Brisket had a nice flavor but it was just a tad dry. Mac and cheese was a little mushy but had a nice flavor. Smoked wings were so good, with a smokey/sweet flavor and very juicy. Hit chicken sandwich was cooked/fried perfectly and had an awesome crunch, just wish it was spicier. Friendly staff, cool place with a traditional southern feel.
Brisket: 2.5/5
Mac and cheese: 3.3/5
Smoked wings: 4.2/5
Hot chicken sandwich: 4/5
Fries: 3.9/5
Overall: 3.52/5

had a really great experience here. (can’t say I’ve tried them all) but this is the best bbq I’ve had in Louisville. I got the beef brisket and my husband got a chicken sandwich. both were cooked and flavored to perfection. very high quality meats. I liked too that the brisket sandwich I could make myself – they provide the sauce and the bread all individually so everything is fresh and adjusted to your liking. it’s a small spot, with just a couple of seats but we ate inside comfortably. Super friendly staff too. We will be back!

Been coming here for years. It fell off a little bit towards the end of the last ownership. They tried to switch to a sub shop, but came back to louies hot chicken and barbecue under new ownership. I’m glad to say that it’s back and better than ever. Hard to beat this 3 tenders + 2 sides for $13

Stumbled on this gem of a little spot while driving north. Fried chicken is top shelf- crispy full of flavor and not greasy. Baked beans made right and tasty potato salad. Both thumbs up on the Tuesday chicken taco special. Which I could come back to try owner and postmaster Mark’s bbq and smoked meats. A counter and a few stools are the only seating. But it happily dine in my car if that was the only option for forking up this really good food made by a really nice friendly hospitable guy

I have been here before and this time was a lunch suggestion by a friend. The hot chicken tenders were extra crispy and dry, but the fries were tasty and crispy not soggy. The brisket was overdone and not tender at all but hard, lacking flavor and had a burnt flavor over smoky almost burnt ends and not brisket. I have had their brisket before and in the past it was tender, juicy and tasty. Their price point is a little better than other hot chicken places in the city but the quality can be hot or miss based on how busy they are.

Wish there was large awnings over the wooden picnic tables outside the building & perhaps a fan … the summers in 90° heat & humidity
There wasn’t much space inside to sit down to eat. They had stools and bar shelf Inside the lobby area … where there was an air conditioner. I felt a little rushed eating so others can sit inside the ac cooled lobby.
I had the hot chicken sandwich and it came with 2 sides … the coleslaw was fresh and delightful & the potato salad was an excellent complement to my meal.
