I can’t believe it’s taken me as long as it has to visit Louie’s when I’ve lived around it forever but here I am. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how clean it smelled and how clean it was! I was impressed. Our server was super friendly and helpful. I had a breaded cheeseburger and fries and that was good. I’ll have to keep an eye on the bands that play and come back for that too.
Update: Third time here and I keep forgetting to take a picture of my food! Ugh. We had the fish today. It is hands down the best fish around. Battered cod, super thick pieces, delicious. Highly recommend the fish. And their fries are very good as well. I’m thinking they are homemade. Good thick fries the way they should be. No avantgarde weird stuff or skinny fries that stab you in the mouth. Louie’s is a favorite local gem.

A local recommended this “dive bar” when we asked about a place to eat. She was spot on about “really good food”. I had one of the best Reuben’s I can recall. My husband noted the cod dinner as “delicious”. Reasonable price for food and drinks. Unfortunately Louie’s was missing an alcoholic variety for several drinks on the menu. Great service. A bit chilly but a “dive” it was not.

We had a decent lunch here. I especially liked the deep fried pickles. The Ruben was also quite good. Can’t recommend the chicken wrap – kind of watery in a weird way). The waitress was great, and she recommended the blueberry vodka drinks which were well received by my wife and daughter. The only strange thing (at least to me) and warning I will give is that if you are going and don’t look like you are 50+ bring your ID. They wouldn’t let my daughters in (they are in their late 20s) without ID. We had to go back to our hotel and get the IDs.
