BEST SANDWICH We’ve Ever Had In SJ!!
Also the Roast Pork Italiano! Was Delicious!
Potato Wedges are amazing too!
Will Definitely Be Eating Here Again!
I’m someone who understands rising food costs and I’m not afraid to pay for quality, but $33 for a cheesesteak with long hots and fries — no drink included — is honestly hard to justify, especially in Washington Township. Prices felt completely out of touch with the area. I’ve paid less at top-tier spots in Philadelphia where overhead and rent are significantly higher. Charging premium-city prices in a local suburban market only works if the product absolutely delivers, and in this case it didn’t.
The steak itself was not very flavorful, the onions were cut way too large which threw off the texture, and the amount of cheese was minimal. What really surprised me was the parmesan cheese sprinkled on top — something I’ve never seen on a traditional cheesesteak and personally would never want again. If you’re going to do something that far outside the norm, customers should at least be asked first instead of being handed a sandwich that feels altered from what people expect.
And let’s talk about the “fries.” These were not fries — they were oversized potato wedges closer to baked potatoes. If you’re advertising French fries, that’s what people should receive. Presentation and accuracy matter, especially when you’re charging premium prices.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but I also believe in being honest. When you position yourself at the high end price-wise, people expect consistency, strong flavor, and attention to detail. Right now it feels like the pricing is ahead of the product. Hopefully this is taken as constructive criticism, because with some adjustments — clearer menu descriptions, more balanced portions, and more realistic pricing — the experience could match the expectations.
We ordered several sandwiches and every single one was impressive. The quality is top-notch, the flavor is legit, and the portions? Huge. These are OG-style sandwiches — packed, delicious, and worth every penny.
If you’re looking for a real deal local favorite with amazing food and great value, Louie G’s is definitely the spot. I’ll be back for sure.
Bravo, Louie G’s!
Cons: Super Expensive
Order: $90 for 3 sandwiches and fries. The adds on cost way too much. Good thing I don’t rate by the price tho. Would come back just not as much.
