Fantastic experience at Louie tonight. The grilled octopus with pepperoni sauce and chickpeas was incredible, and both the filet steak and double bone-in pork chop were cooked perfectly. The prosciutto di parmigiano was a great start, and the cocktails were outstanding.

Our server Jordi really made the night—attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond with service. We’ll definitely be back.

Can’t believe it took so long to find this place! The pizza and pasta had an amazing combination of flavors! The drinks were perfect and generous pours. The service with Rosie Zoe and Brooklyn exemplary. The bar and atmosphere are so very cool. COME SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON! Sorry, we forgot photos of the food!

My boyfriend & I came here for our one year anniversary…. I won’t go into details, but it resulted in a 2-star review (which i deleted yesterday because they went above and beyond to make up for it). they called my boyfriend and asked us to come back the very next week to show us what the true Louie experience is meant to be. They did not disappoint. our entire meal was free (including cocktails) and our waitress brought us champagne to toast to our celebration & THEN on top of that, some wine to cheers to the meal once food arrived. Our waitress was named Courtney, and she is amazing (i don’t recall the name of our first waitress). thank you, louie for giving us a chance to see what amazing hospitality you have <3

We just finished celebrating our anniversary dinner here after having this on a “must try” list. We had an 8:00 reservation and got seated right away. We started with drinks and olives which were the perfect salty/savory combo- the wine choice was something new and delicious. We got the Margherita pizza and the chitarra. So good! The sauce on the pasta was flavorful but not overpowering. The pizza was a smidge undercooked for my liking but the flavors were there and the crust was light and chewy. For dessert we got the “ice cream sandwich”. Phenomenal. The flavor combo was perfect.
The absolute star of the show was our server, Liz. From handing us our silverware to saying good night after we paid, she was attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and truly provided the kind of service that separates an ok experience from an excellent one- and she provided the latter (even sneaking in a few bites of the sweet potato ravioli for me. MUCH appreciated)! This will for sure be on our list to come back to.

Truly increidlbe food. I had a spiritual experience with the poletna. It was so fun and memerising to sit near the pizza over. The starter bread was like no other. Only taking a point off of atmosphere for the restroom – it was boring, undecorated, and very bright. Service was helpful and knowledgeable.

This just couldn’t wait!

Finally landed a reservation to experience all the rave and guess what?!

Drum roll pease….

Louie indeed knocked my socks off’! From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed my time. Danny was an award winning host; offered a warm greeting and kindly accommodated a slight seating modification at my request.

Liz, LIZ, Lizzzzzzz!!!!! Was an absolutely amazing server. Just let me say; service has severely declined these days and sadly I’ve gotten somewhat complacent with that. However, Liz turned my frown upside down (literally). Such a pleasant personality, recommendations were on point and overall service throughout our dining experience was superb. I’m very particular about my Manhattan, Liz relayed the proportions to the bartender who whipped up the perfect concoction.

Highly recommend the octopus of that’s your thing. The sweet potosi ravioli was delicious. Oh, can’t forget the Brussels….so flavorful with just the right amount of char.

Last but not least, the dining room is lovely. Offering an intimate low lighting ambiance it enough to still lay eyes on tour dining companion(s) while conversing. Too a large space but the tables are spread a part nicely enough for privacy. There’s also outdoor seating (heated of course) should you wish to take in the De Mun evening scene.

In summation, Louie understood the assignment.

We had an 8:30 reservation but didn’t get seated until almost 9, which was kind of a bummer. But once the food started coming out, I totally forgot about the wait! Everything was so delicious, and the service was amazing. The cocktails were also really good (wish I had remembered to take pics!), but the real star of the night was the bolognese. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had such rich flavor. The only miss for me was the eggplant dip… it had a super earthy taste that I just couldn’t get into. I’d say skip that one and save room for the mains!

Let’s start with the positives:

* The bread was yummy
* The interior was comfy enough
* The service was fairly good.
* Even with all the issues I’m about to report, the restaurant did attempt to make things right.

Now to the negatives:

The food is just… bad. First off, the bread – like I said, it’s yummy, but it’s just served with plain olive oil. No garlic, no parmesan, no cracked pepper… Very underwhelming.

The salad I ordered was tossed with the most lemony dressing I’ve ever had. No saltiness, no sweetness, just pure lemon oil. I couldn’t take more than a few bites of it.

The pork chop I ordered was overcooked and had less flavor than an applebees chicken breast. It was served with a very bland, one-note sauce, and shishito peppers which did nothing to bring any semblance of flavor complexity to the dish.

The margherita pizza had a suprising amount of bitterness to it; not sure if they burnt the crust or what, but it was just not an enjoyable eat. The sauce was also quite runny, making eating it a fairly sloppy experience.

And then the wine… I sampled three glasses, and my friend ordered one glass… we didn’t like any of them. There were surprisingly few by-the-glass offerings as well.

Clearly the restaurant must be doing SOMETHING right,to have earned 4.8 stars on google. I just have no clue what that might be. At any rate, I will not be returning.

If you like to bathe in salty, buttery, bready goodness, this is for you. Louie doesn’t skimp and really puts their whole back into it. When you go, because you should, prepare to be decadent. Atmosphere is a little too loud for me. If you want food that is just as good with an even better atmosphere, I would check out their other spot, Wright’s Tavern.
