We ordered using Ubereats because they had a buy 1 get 1 free special. We got the cheese deep dish. This pizza was so underwhelming. The potential was there with the cheese pull and the crust. But there was absolutely no seasoning at all! No salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, Italian seasoning nothing! We had high hopes but it feel flat. Oh also, they didn’t cut the pizzas. Which was weird, not sure if that is normal. We were in a hotel and didn’t have proper utensils. We needed up using a plastic knife.

The order was placed under Nick and I got a large deep dish Mike’s hot pizza. I placed the order online, selected that I wanted it cut. When I received the deep dish, the pizzas was not cut, not hot as in temperature, and it was missing the giardiniera. 40 dollars later and some assembly required. Also, when I called to complain, all I got was a loop of the robotic lady telling me all the promotions offered at this location without giving a person to speak with. 20 minutes later, still haven’t spoken to a person yet. Do better and hire more people. At this price point, you can afford too.

Great, Chicago-style deep dish pizza…way better than Giordano’s, in my opinion! The crust is softer and airier than Giordano’s, making it easier to eat with better flavor. The only downfall is that it is carry-out only. Service was great, though, and the front of the house team even recognized that I am a visitor to the area and made sure to provide me with plates, utensils, etc. since I was staying in a hotel. Highly recommend Lou Malnati’s if you’re in the area and looking for authentic Chicago-style deep dish!

The rating is so high due to my combined experience (food and service of this location, today.)

Anyway, I visited this location today and got my Lou Malnati’s “usual;” deep dish veggie.

Long story short the pizza dough was “gummy.” Initially, I thought it was extra, EXTRA cheese on my pizza. Nope! Just gummy-ness.

I’m the customer who visits “chain” restaurants, that have multiple locations locally or nation wide…

Not only am I tired of having an inconsistent experience at these restaurants, but these chains need to make sure EVERY location tastes as SIMILAR as possible.

McDonald’s fish sandwich, or egg and cheese McGriddle taste VERY similar in Illinois as it does in Texas, Indiana, etc. There’s not a DRASTIC taste difference, like the restaurants I’ve been visiting lately, that are chain restaurants.

But anyway, I had to throw away most of my pizza due to the dough being undone / gummy.

I’ve visited this location twice in the past and didn’t have THIS issue. The first time, the pizza was perfect! The second time, the pizza tasted bland, so I haven’t been back in over a year, I believe.

Gummy dough is an avoidable issue.

My first time trying. Never knew this place even existed till recently. Got to say I actually like the pizza here. Reminds me a little of Homerunn Inn pizza but tastier. I got thin crust. Had a nice crunch to it. Sauce was very good. I really like that they sell their pizza in the frozen section too. So you can buy a pizza to put in freezer for another day. They also had Italian ice. Freshly made salad was available to purchase . Yes I will return again. Glad I discovered this hidden gem near home. FYI.. I ordered on the website and pick up. Was much easier for me. I do not recommend coming for Valentine’s Day terrible pick up process.

I have tried Lou Malnati’s from other locations in the past and has been great so I figured I would try the one in Joliet. Overall atmosphere and service is what you would expect. The pizza was good, a bit pricey, but good, toppings were fresh and cheese was plenty, the signature butter crust on this occasion did not seem up to par, rather soggy and not as crispy as I remembered. Still very good pizza and would recommend trying this location and make your own opinion.

I’m From out of town. First time getting my Deep dish pizza from here. Ru & Jon gave me a great experience. I told them I had a 2 hour drive back home coming from a car show out here in Chicago area. And They offered me a Free insulated bag to keep my Pizza Fresh and warm. Pizza was great when I arrived home. The good intentions were there, super nice people and because of that I will always get my deep dish pizza from here every time I visit Chicago area. Highly recommend doing business with them.

So this is what you get now for a lou malnatis salad. They got really stingy with their salad dressings so beware not enough for a salad at all. What a shame used to love this place but I’m not paying 14$ for a salad with no salad dressing. Used to come with two. Go to Giordanos it’s better anyways. Let’s take away a little salad dressings from the customers so the CEO can make an extra couple 100K. What a disgrace this place has become. The quality when to crap and when it’s time to get your pie it takes 20 extra min. Don’t go here absolutely terrible.

Love Malnatis pizza. This is a busy carry out only storefront but they do have a couple of refrigerators and freezers with various pizzas, salads, desserts including Italian ice and tiramisu. Curbside pick up also available. Try the Malnatis salad if you haven’t already…it’s delicious with their homemade house dressing!
