This was my first time in the Chicago area and I was eager to try a deep dish pizza. Ordered a personal deep dish, uncut, with pepperoni… what a dissapointment.
When I picked it up at the hotel counter, I got handed a tiny box, very light when I picked it up. I knew immediately that ordering this was a mistake. I’m pretty sure the woman behind the hotel check-in desk could see the happiness drain from my face when she handed it to me.
Got back up to my room and opened it up. The pizza was smaller than my palm. I know that it’s a “personal deep dish” but it felt more like kid size than anything. My 5 year old niece who weighs all of 30lbs could probably eat two of them and still want a cheese stick or two. I mean, damn.
Anyway, I cut the pizza into four slices, and went for it. The taste was fine and the crust was nice, but I realized on the first bite that it was about 80% crust, 15% cheese and 5% sauce, with maybe 4 pieces of pepperoni in it total. This pizza was $14.59. FOURTEEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY-NINE CENTS for a pizza that was 80% crust and smaller than my palm. What a joke.
Thank god it came out of my company’s pocket instead of mine or I would have been furious rather than simply supremely dissappointed.
Maybe the larger sized pizzza’s come out better than this, but if I were to rate it simply of the pizza I had, I’d give it a two, so that’s what they’re getting. Tragic.

I ordered carryout from this location for the first time last night, and I can honestly say in all my years as a native Chicagolander, I’ve never been served a pizza (deep-dish or otherwise) that looked like this. Half the sauce was missing from the edge – this was not the result of how we transported the pizza, because the other deep dish pizza didn’t look like this at all. Someone genuinely thought that this was acceptable to serve to a customer, and that maybe we wouldn’t notice?
Either way, I was really bummed out. I live outside of the state now, but every year, I come back home for the holidays and look forward to eating some deep dish so much. This was truly such a disappointment 🙁 Not sure if I’ll ever be ordering from Lou’s again – I have noticed the quality has gone down in recent years, but I was willing to give them another shot. Guess I’ll be ordering from Gino’s or Giordani’s next time.

Great pizza and an awesome take-out experience! The order was quick, accurate, and ready right on time. The pizza was hot, fresh, and full of flavor with a perfectly cooked crust. Everything was packaged well and tasted just as good at home. Definitely a go-to spot for take-out pizza!

Moved recently and this is now the closest Lou’s. Sooo much better than the Bloomingdale location. Crust was great, and honestly, the whole reason for the review. Haven’t had a good pizza in a while. Highly suggest the thin crust triple pep.

I placed an order (yesterday) for delivery a day in advance to make sure I could get what I needed for a holiday party (today), and then just before the delivery, I get a message that my order was cancelled! And it looks like it was likely because they didn’t want to honor a BOGO deal, because when I looked at the ordering form afterward it was no longer an option. Boo.
Placed a new order because my kids really wanted a heart shaped pizza, and got an additional small pizza WHICH WAS VERY SMALL- The small is more like a ‘personal’ sized pizza.

Deep dish before the Packers game was ready on time. The surprise was that so many pickups happened at the same time that employees delivered to us in the car. The Lou Special with sausage pieces was perfect.

I’ve been a customer since the 70’s. Elk Grove & Schaumburg were amazing restaurants! 50 years later, its still my favorite pizza. Now I live 2 hours away but still grab a pizza from the Carol Stream location when im in town visiting family. No complaints, never had a bad experience, best pizza on the planet!

EXCELLENT Chicago style pizza!! This was our 1st time visiting Chicago and we had to have their famous pizza. The pizza was hot, ingredients were fresh, and it had just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The dough was cooked perfectly. We ordered online and it was ready at the exact time we said we would pick it up.
We chose this place based off google reviews and so glad we did! We ordered a large pepperoni deep dish and a medium classic. Was more than enough to feed our family of 6. We had half of the large leftover.
Will definitely be back!! I highly recommend!! Five stars!!

I had The Malnati Chicago Classic.
Outside is hard crispy, inside is really juicy sausage, cheese, and tomato sauce.
It’s personal size and enough to full.
However, I ate another one(Cheese Deep Dish) too.
Really tasty!
