Good price, great taste. Was surprised to see this amount of chicken in the picture for 7 dollars. I was expecting one or 2 more pieces, but Restaurant was slammed, orders were made prompt and timely.

Pretty great place to”chow” down “mein” . They offer budget friendly dinners, which includes the main entree of your choice, meme chicken, cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, general chicken, spicy chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken or beef low “mein” orange chicken, moo goo gai pan shrimp fried rice , I believe they have a garlic chicken sesame chicken and maybe a couple others. All dinners come with steamed or fried rice, excluding the low “mein” options, your choice of egg roll or crab ranGoon. Don’t forget to add on an order of hot and sour, or egg drop soup. Compared to other similar Chinese food locations nearby, or anywhere in Joplin you that matter, you will get the best value for your dollar here. It’s a clean friendly environment, but a little on the small side . It Gets busy between 5 pm and 7 pm , so eating inside at these times, might not be the best time for that,but they handle the “rush hour” very effectively, it always helps to call in your order ahead, but it isn’t necessary. I’d suggest you try the meme or general chicken and a boba drink would you are here. There aren’t very many places in Joplin that offer this item.

I’ve been to Lotus Xpress more times than I’d like to admit—and it’s all because of their mango smoothie with boba. It’s genuinely addictive! The flavor is rich and refreshing, like sipping on a real mango, and the popping bobas add a fun burst that keeps me coming back. I’ve probably spent more on that drink than I should, but no regrets.
That said, not everything hits the mark. The strawberry smoothie was a letdown—artificial tasting and just not enjoyable. As for the food, it’s nothing extraordinary, but the portions are generous and the pricing is fair. If you’re craving a solid mango boba fix, this place delivers.

I understand where the people say it’s a good place for the prices! The box deal phss can’t beat that and for the variety of food. The deal box is on special time and a few options with a soup, a egg roll or crab Rangoon with a beverage for less than 8$ a combo special. There is two variety of soup the egg drop soup and another one which I did not get the name. The menu is clear spicy and non spicy chicken and meat choices. Non of this food felt fresh to me it felt like a beginner cooker some one that gets can food or frozen choices and dump it with sauce and a little condiments here and there. The egg drop soup tastes and looked like to me like a chicken noodle soup Campbell with egg in it. The combos felt the same swimming in its sauce then actual suppose to be. The rice yes did felt fresh but perhaps the only thing. The service was gentle and helpful but the food I mean…… price great helpful. And yes I know there aren’t many choices of food in Joplin but can do better.

We hadn’t eaten here in years, but we’re passing through and thought we would have since it was one of my mother in law’s favorite places to eat. We won’t be back, they used to have really good food. This entire meal lacked flavor. The egg rolls were smaller, the hot and sour soup was bland, the fried rice was a big clump of flavorless gunk, and the cashew sauce tasted like it was mostly water.

Food was hot, tender and delicious. The “meme” chicken is fantastic. Not your lazy chicken nuggets thrown into some sauce, these are the real real chicken pieces. Tender and flavored to perfection
Fried rice is on point. Rice is properly cooked and not overly seasoned. Egg roll is delicious. It was a little soggy, but was devoured without prejudice.
The wife got sweet and sour chicken and had the same opinion overall.

This is my favorite place for Chinese in Joplin! But this was my first time eating inside and getting the lunch box for $6 and I will probably never get it again. I feel I got ripped off. I got a lemon chicken and a general chicken and I was with a couple other people and they got the same thing and yet their plates had probably twice as much more than what mine did! The food was amazing like always but the portion was horrible this time !

Update – Failed inspection not once but 3 times now?!?!? I won’t return.
I visited here Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 7:33 PM. For dinner! I originally ordered a large garlic chicken fried rice. That was not it. I got a large chicken fried rice.
I told them what I wanted and they called my order back to me, then I went to pay. I pulled around after paying and waited a few minutes for my food, which was NOT a problem! Upon arriving at home, getting inside, I then realized it was NOT what I ordered. I did not think to check because I have absolutely never had this happen from this place. I called up to the store at around 9:00 pm. Explaining what was going on. Colton answered and stated they were closed. I then explained to him that I understood they were closed, I was just trying to explain what happened with my order. Colton then told me they would replace my food, but right before hanging up, he stated I had a “deadline” of a week to come and get it remade, or they wouldn’t remake it. I have been very busy with work, and I wasn’t able to make it in by his “deadline.” So it’s awful this place does that to people after they messed up the food and someone spent close to $15.00! I don’t think it is very professional for a business to create deadlines on fixing an issue they caused.
