Did not expect such a wait here at this little café. But after tasting the coffee- we understood why. We had about a 10-minute wait where we were able to wander around. There’s a perfect loft seating area that was extra cozy. The coffee was delicious both times we went in. The muffins were fresh. The staff was friendly and even though they were so busy, they didn’t mind us taking a bit to figure out what we wanted.
Loved the variety of things when you first walk in. Things to purchase, seeds to share, etc. Also loved the little cash discount that’s offered.
The flavors weren’t listed anywhere we could see before getting to the counter, that was my only complaint.

The food was SO reasonably priced, and good! They don’t go half way with the food effort. Their butter beer latte was delicious, and they have a bunch of really good sounding signature drinks.
Such a cozy, comfortable vibe both inside and out.

So we were out walking this morning and decided to stop by Lotus Up and have a drink. My partner had a berry smoothie and I had a breve. Both drinks were very tasty and served quick. If you want a really good espresso drink, they still use a real machine! No super autos here! The coffee has a nice flavor, so go and enjoy! They have a cool view of the mine from the outside deck too.

Cute cafe with a pretty view, nice selection of gluten free breakfast and lunch items. Greatly enjoyed the panini.

This little shop was incredible! I stopped in here on a road trip and wished I lived close to here because I’d be here everyday. Our bagels we got were homemade and were the perfect consistency. We got the chai tea and coffee as well which were both delicious. The shop had very chill vibes and there were all sorts of nooks that would be great to do some reading. This is a must stop at shop!

This charming cafe is staffed by the nicest, most helpful people. I have a gluten issue and they really worked hard to come up with a meal I could enjoy. The egg, bacon and cheese panini on gluten free bread was absolutely delicious. The cafe is sunny and bright with beautiful murals and views of the mountains. I would return here in a minute.

After waiting a while for acknowledgment given they were short staffed, we finally managed to place our order for breakfast – oat milk latte, drip coffee, breakfast panini and breakfast burrito. The latte didn’t look like a latte at all, there was no froth on it whatsoever, it looked like a glass of milk rather than a coffee. I could barely taste coffee so I took it back to the barista who added another shot of coffee to it. I could barely drink half of my so called latte and had to discard it. Drip coffee wasn’t any better. Both the panini and burrito were bland. Regret picking Lotus Up over other options in the area. Can’t recommend it for food or coffee.

From a Texas tourist: skip trying to eat breakfast in Deadwood and drive 10 min to this coffee shop! The service here was way nicer than elsewhere in SD. I got the caramel roll (huge) and a blueberry scone. My husband got a coffee & a breakfast panini. All of it was delicious! We enjoyed our food upstairs with a great view.
