Too good of an authentic Maharashtrian restaurant with real flavors and real taste. In the past 3 months I visited this place atleast 6 times.
Their misal pav is the best
But Kharda chicken/mutton and Gavran Chicken/ mutton is my most favorite which is fixed in my order list.
Along with that, I tried 2 new dishes today,
Sukha chicken ( highly recommended) and outstanding Puran Poli with katachi aamti. Truly reminded me of home.
Love their service and staff is too friendly.
Thank you guys for bring home so close here in Houston

We had a great experience at Lotus Maharashtrian Restaurant in Houston! The Pav Bhaji was amazing – full of flavor and perfectly buttery. The Paneer Sizzler was very tasty and nicely presented. Aloo Paratha was good, and the Veg Maratha was delicious too, though you can definitely taste the garam masala – so even the mild version has a bit of spice (which we enjoyed!). The Sabudana Vada were excellent – crispy on the outside and soft inside. And the chai was awesome! Would definitely go again!

The goat vindaloo was so flavorful and tender. I really enjoyed this dish. I also tried some of the chili shrimp, and omg — the shrimp were amazing and seasoned to perfection.

For an appetizer, I ordered the samosa chaat to try something new. I personally wasn’t a big fan of it, but it was more of a preference thing than the dish itself.

Overall, this place is definitely worth a try. We were seated quickly, served quickly, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back!

A cozy place which invites you to enjoy the best Maharashtrian food in the city. Very clean and well maintained restaurant. The service is excellent. We tried Kothimbir Vadi and Batata Vada as appetizers. Pithala Bhakri combo, Kolhapuri Danka and Kharda Chicken Bhakri as combo. All of the items were delicious. Please go for mild if you can’t handle spicy food as their medium spice level is at a higher level. Try masala soda too! Overall, excellent experience!

Giving this 5-stars based on food and service. Atmosphere, while clean, had a distinctly down market feel. The restaurant is located in a strip center just west of the intersection of Westheimer and Westpark Drive, in the Briar Forest area west of BW 8. We were welcomed and seated promptly. This being our first foray into Maharashtrian cuisine (although having eaten the odd dish previously), we took our time ordering – Kokum Juice (tangy, slightly sweet, with Chaat masala, etc.), Kothimbir Vadi (Cilantro plus other spices mixed in dough, fritters) and Sabudana Vada (Sago fritters) for appetizers; Maratha Vegetables, Bombay Masala Noodles, dry Cauliflower Manchurian, and Pithala/Bhakri combo (a Gram Flour-based gravy/curry with Millet flat bread). Food arrived after a while as it appeared to have been made afresh. Tastes were fantastic, and quantities were ample. A great first holistic intro to Maharashtrian cuisine. Prices were reasonable, with the whole meal setting us back approx $70 for 5 persons, with taxes All in all, an excellent outing – plan to return.

Visited Lotus Restaurant in Houston mainly to try their Misal Pav. The taste was decent and enjoyable, though it slightly missed that authentic Mumbai-style kick. One thing I felt could be improved was the pav — I wish they served the regular savory pav instead of the small, slightly sweet buns, which changed the overall experience a bit.

That said, the food was still satisfying. The Pithala Bhakri combo was quite nice and comforting, and overall the meal was good. It’s a solid place and worth a visit, but with a few tweaks it could be even better

Average Indian restaurant with average tasting food. I think this place may be great for very specific Maharashtrian food however if you’re just looking for a general Indian Gaba, it may not be the best spot. We ordered a chicken sizzler and a highly disappointed with the quality of the Meat and just how it came in there was just rice and a lot of potatoes on the sizzler plate and barely any meat and the meat that was on it just seemed like old and pre-cooked so it was nothing like a typical sizzler. We asked the server initially if it’s going to be like a bone in and and she said yes but then when she brought the food out, she’s like oh this is boneless by the way and it was weird. The only thing I like there was the bhaji but i think it didn’t sit well with me.

For long time we were struggling to get good maharashtrian taste in Houston and this hotel finally ended our search!! We had Veg Maratha and Egg Biryani and we liked it a lot ! Wada paav is too good! Now we are eager to try Puran Poli and Katachi aamti and other dishes!

Update: Ordered delivery again and the food was very good!

I was a huge fan when this restaurant started. The pithala bhakri they serve is as authentic as it can get. Similarly, most of the dishes I’ve tried were amazing. However it has been bit downhill last 2 times I went. Apart from very slow service/ ~45 mins of waiting, the food was very oily. The take home picture below was my home delivery order for pav bhaji. I had similar experience for the biryani I ordered last time in person as well. Overall 2 stars but I’m optimistic about improvements.

PS: Both the times I either called ahead or let them know to not make food too oily.

If you are in rush and need a quick food, you should come here. The ambiance, food and server are all good. I forgot to take the picture of biryani but it was the best I had in a while. And the dinner does not end with the white rasmalai . Yum yum yum
