I tried Lotus in Mooresville last night and was disappointed. The restaurant was empty during dinner, which was the first red flag. The building itself didn’t feel very clean, and the overall atmosphere wasn’t great. Service was fine but I was the only one there.
I asked for the favorite dish and waiter said scallion chicken The portions were large, and the meal came with chips, soup, and white rice, but unfortunately the rice tasted old. The food itself was very basic—more like standard takeout than anything special and definitely not fresh.
Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t a place I’d go out of my way to visit again.

The best Chinese I have had in a long time! The portion sizes and the prices were very good too.
I had the pork lo mein and the quality was top notch. The sesame chicken had big pieces of chicken and was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend this place! Staff was very friendly and service was great!

New to Mooresville and decided to check Lotus out. It is a family style Chinese restaurant. I haven’t had Egg Foo Young since I moved to the Charlotte area and I must say it was Devine. The portions are so big we have leftovers. I definitely recommend!

We had a great time at this restaurant. We moved here from NJ/NY and it’s very hard to find a good Chinese food spot. This place never disappoints and the services is wonderful. The waiters always make sure we are taken care of. Must haves are the ribs, orange chicken and pork fried rice.

I forgot how good this place was. Honestly the best Chinese restaurant in the area (they do some Thai dishes too)… the broccoli and beef was amazing. The portion was generous too—I had enough left over to feed my future self (you’re welcome, Tomorrow Me)…. the wait staff is 5 star too. They keep the lemon water glass filled to the brim. I highly recommend this place.

Been going here for over 30 years since I was a little kid. Not much has changed since then the food is still fantastic and service is great. Love the chips and sauce you get to start only place I’ve been that has that. Prices are great! One my favorite places!

With not a lot of great Chinese options in the area, Lotus is the winner, but still has opportunity to improve.
We ordered a ton of food for our family reunion. The sweet and sour chicken and the hibachi chicken and steak stood out as the clear winners. Everyone was very pleased with these two and had no complaints.
I judge a Chinese restaurant on their ability to produce an accurate General Tso Chicken, and Lotus definitely had the right flavor. Big win! Unfortunately, the heat was too low and the sauce (while correct in flavor profile) was a little too bland. It was a 3/5 as far as the General Tso Chicken.
The noodles were also good; not the best we’ve ever had, but still hearty and had some flavor.
All in all, we’d definitely return here. Well done, Lotus!

Everything about this place is excellent. The very friendly attentive service was my favorite, but the food also was excellent. Love the free fried wantons with sweet and sour sauce.
