Decent atmosphere, snug bar that’s brightly lit with a few high tops to the side (these are more cozy and have dimmer lighting). The parking lot is always packed so I had to see what it was all about. The bartender was really nice and helpful with my questions about the menu. I love that kids can order a steak here for $10. I tried the cup of gumbo which was actually really flavorful and dark, not like some places around here who think they are serving gumbo. I’d go back for that alone. The fried pickles were the long, thin sandwich pickles- they were cooked perfectly but not the best I’ve had. Lastly the fried seafood platter was pretty decent- typical fried stuff- but if you love frog legs it comes with those, shrimp, one piece of catfish and A DELICIOUS CRAB CAKE! You get two sides, I recommend the home cut fries with extra seasoning- they aren’t those frozen battered taters restaurants think are better. I give three stars only because the atmosphere isn’t much to write home about and doesn’t match the prices, it’s a little bright for the bar, only one size draft and a little on the pricey side for the taste of things and that I was told the house dressing is ranch. I do really appreciate the home cut fries, the gumbo and the crab cake though and would recommend all three.

I had the bacon wrapped filet and the potato soup for a side and it was all delicious! Steak was the best i had didn’t need steak sauce and the soup was soo good! I can’t wait to go back! The pecan cheesecake is an absolute must so save room!

We had the smoked ribeye which was too salty to enjoy. Otherwise it would have been fantastic.

Wagyu strip with crab-stuffed, bacon-wrapped shrimp… this special was so flavorful! The fried green tomatoes and fried pickles are crunchy and delish! We all shared sides: mac/cheese, cheesy broccoli, loaded mashed potatoes, and cheesy grits– every one of those were tasty! Nothing was bland, nothing needed seasonings, steak didn’t need steak sauce. All around, this place was great!

We took a recommendation from some locals and went here for dinner on Saturday night. They were busy (call ahead for waiting list!) The service was good, just that they had so much that the kitchen got behind. So it took awhile to get our food. That said, the salads were fresh and crispy. The table bread was soft. And Wifey had the Shrimp and Grits, I had the Chicken fried steak. Both were so good. Our friends had the salmon and the chicken fried chicken. All of it was delicious. Our server was always there to refill a glass or take a request. She was great! We will be recommending this place to anyone we can. Outstanding.

We didn’t dine in, so I can’t comment on the atmosphere. Our order was to go, and we were told 25 mins for pickup. The meal was ready in less than 15, so I can’t complain about that either. However, to say we paid $18 for a 3-piece catfish dinner that was barely there is embarrassing. Definitely won’t be returning. The salad was brown and slimy in some places, and I didn’t realize until I had already eaten some of it. The best part of the whole meal was the bread. A tiny little loaf that I spread butter all over was great. However, the fish, salad, and hand cut fries left much to be desired. The photo attached is the catfish “meal.”

The food was top notch for my gumbo, the kids chicken fingers and the kids home made Mac n cheese. However something was off for my wife’s chicken fried steak which made her sick after a couple bites. Also, the food took forever (60 +mins) to get out to us also and with kids that is always a pain.

Excellent food prepared & seasoned very well! The menu (&prices) are a bit more upscale than the atmosphere/vibe & worth the extra expense. The salmon was cooked to perfection & the hickory smoked ribeye was exquisite. We stumbled upon this somewhat-hole in the wall place off the highway on our drive home from Hot Springs & I’m glad we did. Highly recommend!
