Let’s call it out for what it is and what it is not.

Los Toltecos is a nostalgic place to me because we used to go there with coworkers as it was close to our workplace at the time and IT IS a nice looking, good vibe place to chill and get drinks. But, the food was never above average.
Los Toltecos IS NOT authentic Mexican food, especially if you’re Hispanic and know good authentic Mexican cuisine; this is not at all.
Even though I knew that well, today we went for dinner as I unexpectedly met a former coworker in the area close to dinner time. The food was worse than ever. Bland and super salty. I hadn’t been there since the pandemic and going back was a mistake. I think I could’ve gotten a much better meal at Chipotle for a fraction of the price. Our server was average. The beverages were blah. The only decent part of our meal was probably the chips and salsa, that’s it.
So, if you’re going for drinks with friends go for it. But if you’re going for the food then, be warned.
I didn’t even want my leftovers, that’s how poor quality that dinner was. It makes me sad that it has gotten worse and I do not plan on going back!

We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it out. Sadly it did NOT meet our expectations. Beginning with the service, everyone was super nice and attentive, but the server was not very clear about specials, happy hour or lunch specials. He did not know the minimum ingredients on any of the dishes we asked about. Second, the food. We ordered an overly watered down margarita that was very likely infused with cheap tequila based on the huge headache I got 30min later after I finished the drink. We also ordered the Lunch chicken fajitas and and two chiles rellenos. The Fajitas were great, but the refried beans and rice were way too salty. The chiles rellenos were not cooked to how the original recipe goes. The chiles were wrapped into an egg omelette instead of dipped into an egg foam and fried. The chiles were also not deveined properly, I like spicy food so I was fine with the chiles being spicy, someone else wouldn’t have finished those chiles. The price was way too expensive for the quality of the food. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, the only sad part is that there is lots of visible black dust on the walls and windows. The bathrooms were very dirty and lots of small fixups that could be esily fixed are not. We won’t be coming back to this place.

Feels like a neighborhood restaurant. Probably a ton of repeat business from the local folks. Ordered the carnitas, carne asada, birria quesadilla, and chicken quesadilla to go. The portions are huge and can easily be two meals. The only one we didn’t enjoy was the birria. Never had it that soggy. Expected a crunchy texture.

I’m not overly fond of Mexican food, but i was pleasantly surprised when I had dinner at this restaurant (twice). My family had recommended it, so we went for dinner with family and friends who were visiting from California and Canada.
I loved the food. I ordered tacos on both occasions, but tried out the pork belly taco (excellent) first time and the carne asada (very tasty) the second. The strawberry margarita was delicious. Our group had a variety of dishes (fajitas, chicken wings, salad, Quesadillas etc) and everyone enjoyed their food.
Service is very friendly and efficient.
I would not hesitate to go there again.
Two thumbs up!!

This is a truly local place!
Good service. Good food, good atmosphere.

It’s off the beaten path but a good place to visit if you’re looking for the local hangout.

Very friendly and accommodating.

Go and have a great time.
Beer and drinks are very reasonable.

Great Mexican food at an amazing price. Their Mango margaritas are among the best I have ever had. Try both the frozen and on the rocks versions. The spicy jambalaya and burritos are a must get.

This was my second visit. I enjoyed it so much, especially the Fajita Texana, on my 1st visit that I chose to come back to celebrate my 60th birthday with my daughter and order the same thing. Everything from the atmosphere, food, and staff was great. The staff and customer sung Happy Birthday to me, which made it more enjoyable.

I think that the Tex-Mex fajitas were reasonably priced but did not contain as much meat as I thought it would. Look at the picture attached, it’s mostly vegetables. The booth situation was complicated. The host served us a table for 4, and we were 5. We were all squished together. We had to ask for a chair to sit at the end of the table. Service was sub-par, definitely room for improvement. Drinks are definitely creative at this establishment, just look at the colors pop!

Went on a weekday with the family, and one of them is vegetarian, but it was a non-issue. Got seated right away. Friendly, courteous staff. The food is really good. We ordered enchiladas verde, enchiladas suizas, and veggie fajitas. Everything came out as good as expected. We had a great time.
