Los Tacos No.1 lets you enjoy authentic tacos across Manhattan at true street-style prices.

The Pollo Asado Taco (Grilled Chicken) is a standout. The chicken is grilled right in front of you and packed with irresistible smoky flavor. Fresh salsa adds a bright acidity, while the avocado brings richness. Though small in size, each taco is tightly packed with well-balanced flavor.

Simple, but clearly well thought out. The lines make sense—this place is absolutely worth waiting for!

I stopped by Los Tacos No. 1 at Chelsea Market and grabbed a $6 carne asada taco. The overall experience was great — quick service, a lively atmosphere, and food that’s clearly made fresh right in front of you.

The tortillas were warm and soft, the toppings were crisp, and everything was seasoned nicely. You can taste the quality in each layer, and the flavours come together really well. It’s the kind of simple, no-frills taco that hits the spot when you’re exploring the market.

That said, the carne asada itself was a bit dense. Still flavourful, but definitely on the chewier side — borderline a mini jaw workout. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was noticeable enough to keep it from being a perfect five stars.

Overall, still a tasty taco and a solid stop if you’re craving something quick and satisfying in Chelsea Market. I’d go back and try a different protein next time, because everything else was bang-on.

We had a truly positive experience at Lo Tacos Number One at Chelsea Market. The tacos were exceptional, with high-quality, flavorful meat that really lives up to the spot’s reputation as one of New York’s best. We got to taste several different varieties of tacos, each with unique and interesting flavors. Another highlight was the very reasonable price, around $5 per taco.
Additionally, we appreciated finding Topo Chico, a Mexican drink that’s not easy to come by in New York, and that made the experience even better. While there’s no seating inside the market, you can enjoy your tacos standing nearby, and that didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment.
In summary, it’s a highly recommended experience, with delicious tacos, fair prices, and an authentic atmosphere.

Excellent tacos with bold, authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. The meats are well seasoned and cooked perfectly, and portions are generous. Service is fast and efficient with minimal interaction. Very popular spot inside Chelsea Market, so expect a lineup, but it moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Great food, service and flavour. The pork with pineapple was spicy, juicy and balanced sweet with the pineapple. I tried both corn and flour and I prefer the flour. Bustling vibe had some to go it was so good.

I’ve kept seeing people say this is the best taco they have ever had. I don’t think that is true, but it is still really good and worth the try! You order, get a ticket and then present that ticket to a person behind the counter, you can customise your taco with either a flour or corn and choose the toppings you like – great if you’re not a fan of cilantro. The tacos are made fresh and that is reflected in the taste. It’ll come out quick, but Chelsea markets didn’t have a spot to sit – which is okay as these are easy to eat standing.

For us it’s the absolute best taco bar in New York! We came twice in one trip – could’ve made it three. The chilli shrimp was mind-blowing, beef just as tender and shrimp cevice. If we lived here, this would be home. Don’t miss it. Hope to visit here again. Thank you all the staff

These tacos are really good but not sure if it’s that good for the price. I will say I’ve had better but considering it’s around manhattan and a market, price wise makes sense.
Carne asada was nicely done, sometimes the salsa picante can range from not that spicy to really spicy.
Wait time 10 minutes

Definitely get the carne asada! The adobada was also very good. It’s busy but the line goes by fast.

You’ll see a line and understand why. Best tacos I’ve had in a long time. Get the corn tortillas and try each “flavor”. My favorite was the adobada but my husband loved the nopal and pollo. No matter what you choose you’ll be happy.
