Decent spot for Mexican food—flavors were solid, though nothing mind-blowing. The atmosphere felt pretty basic, but the vibrant wall art added a nice touch. Worth a try if you’re nearby.

This place is awesome in every way. Nice atmosphere, great service, fast, one of the largest selections of Mexican food on any menu anywhere. Bar. Quality food. If you cant appreciate this place, taco bell is a better fit for you across the parking lot.

I had a great experience at Los Reyes! The staff is incredibly nice and friendly, and they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The food was excellent and full of flavor. I highly recommend the La Arrachera if you like steak! It’s cooked perfectly and very satisfying. One of their flat chicken with Shrimp dish is also really good and definitely worth trying.

The salsa and chips are phenomenal and a great way to start the meal. Honestly, you won’t go hungry here because there are so many delicious dishes to try on the menu.

The only thing I’d love to see in the future is chicharrones on the menu. I bet this place would make some of the best around Athens, maybe even better than anywhere in Atlanta. Overall, a fantastic restaurant and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I have been to the original los Reyes several times and have always enjoyed it. However, with it being out on highway 29 north it is a long drive. I was pleased when los Reyes 2 opened off of the Prince Avenue extension or Highway 129. Their food is just as good as is their service. I especially like their squeeze containers of habanero sauce and arbol pepper sauce. To me it is among the top 5 of Mexican restaurants in Athens. The restaurant environment is not as unique as the original restaurant, but it has interesting art on the walls.

Recently, I visited Los Reyes II, a newly opened Mexican restaurant. The fresh, inviting atmosphere and fantastic service from our waiter set a positive tone for the evening.

We started with chips and salsa, followed by a queso appetizer. The salsa, unfortunately, was a letdown, being a bit watery and more reminiscent of marinara sauce. However, the queso dip was a classic, enjoyable starter.

For the main course, I had the steak and cheese quesadilla, my girlfriend tried the steak tostada, and our friend opted for a beef taco with rice and beans. The quesadilla was decent but could have used more cheese, and while the rice and beans were satisfactory, the texture of the rice varied. My girlfriend’s rice was slightly chewy, whereas mine was fine. The steak tostada, enhanced by a flavorful hot sauce, was quite good.

I also tried their house margarita, which leaned too much on sour mix, overshadowing the tequila’s taste.

As for pricing, Los Reyes II sits comfortably within a fair range, with most meals around $10-$15. Given the fresh setting and quality service, the prices felt reasonable for the portions and the experience.

Overall, Los Reyes II offers a promising start as a new restaurant, with a fresh atmosphere and commendable service. While the food is standard Mexican fare, there are areas for improvement, like more vibrant flavors in the salsa and a more balanced margarita. Despite these minor issues, the presentation and welcoming environment make this spot worth a try. I look forward to seeing how they refine their offerings over time.

One of the better Mexican food restaurants in the area. Staff were great with suggestions/recommendations and drinks were great. Will be visiting again when I’m nearby.

Decided to pay a visit the week after it just opened and the atmosphere and service was incredible. However, the food was okay- nothing too impressive but wasn’t bad either. Prices have definitely gone up compared to menus found online which was kinda disappointing . I got the chimichanga & my fiancé got a quesadilla- the portions were decent and we also got refills on chips & salsa but nothing to write home about.

We love Los Reyes! It has quickly become our new favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The service is always quick and everyone is super friendly. The food is great and tastes a lot fresher than other restaurants nearby. Their frozen margarita is my favorite!
