We are a local family (Hampstead) and we have dreamed for so long of opening our own restaurant. Through hard work and determination, we’ve finally made this dream come true in 2019 and added a second location in Southport 2024. We hope that you come eat with us and find that our restaurant is far from your average chain Mexican restaurant. All of our sauces, cheese dips, tortillas, mole, salsa, rice, and more are all freshly handmade. We pride ourselves in making everything fresh and never using precooked canned items. Our recipes are from of our backbone of the family mama Naty. We are a family-run restaurant working hard daily to serve you out traditional Mexican dishes. We hope to see and meet everyone! Thank you all for your support!

My wife and I visited on January 1. Positives: the staff was friendly and polite, our server Chris seemed like a nice guy, the place was clean, and the salsa and cheese dip were good.
That said, the experience was terrible. The visit took an hour and 20 minutes, and our food took forever to arrive even though we ordered basic tacos. If they were short-staffed, they should have said so upfront and given people the option to stay or leave. The service was slow and disorganized. While, Chris was a nice guy, he was not a great server and really needs some coaching or to have a different profession.
The portions were honestly shocking. My wife ordered two crunchy shrimp tacos with extra cheese and sour cream — one taco had 1 shrimp, the other had 3, and there was no extra cheese. My steak tacos had barely any meat, chopped so small and sparse it was almost comical. The meat was chopped so tiny it was approximately the size of a meal worm that you feed a chicken.
Our total was almost $35 before tip for 4 tacos, one Coke, one water, and a small cheese dip. Earlier this week we ate the same meal at San Felipe for $35 WITH tip, and their portions were generous (5–6 shrimp per taco and real chunks of steak).
Slow service, no communication, and laughable portions for the price. Do not recommend. To those about to nosh, DON’T DO IT HERE! Go elsewhere!

Great food and our server Amanda was wonderful. The bar is a place nice to sit to Watch TV or look at Painted Shells. And they are open today before the storm rolls in. They have draft Dos Equis on tap!

This was a great experience. Margaritas (mine spicy, husband’s regular) were fantastic. I ordered off the house special menu and got a meal with fried cactus. It was really good and who knew I loved caucus. My husband got the burritos and enjoyed them. I feel this restaurant is so far the best Mexican I’ve had around here. Also our bartender/waiter, we choose to eat at the bar, did a great job. Thought the pricing was very reasonable. Give this place a try!

It’s 1pm on the Sunday after the opening of this area’s first Los Primos franchise. The place is half empty now but the staff is exhausted by three straight days of full house sittings, so we forgive the messy tables and how the hostess/bar back/waitress took her time to acknowledge us as we waited uncomfortably by the door. Our waiter on the other hand was the kind you want; responsive, attentive, and a good memory. The food was franchise food, but my fussy husband said the shrimp cocktail was reminiscent of what you’d get in Spain, except they thicken the sauce more. He’d even consider ordering it again — which is high praise given his usually grumpy attitude about American restaurants. My taco salad was ok. Notably, there was lots of crumbled cheese on top. Lots of shredded chicken, although I’d prefer a bit more refried beans to keep the base from getting soggy. Sadly, there was no time to defrost more flan, so my dessert was the Chimi cheesecake, not /quite/ defrosted. Nor was the chocolate lava in hubby’s dessert. But hey, it’s a franchise with food that’s not bad, and they’re just getting started. Will patrons come back on their next date night? Well our check was only $55 before tip (no beer yet — Brunswick County is predictably dragging their feet on the liquor license), so the price ain’t bad, the food was as good as any other franchise, and once you’re seated you have the prospect of an awesome waiter who can actually talk to a Londoner about London. Happy hubby, happy life.

We atopped in for a quick lunch. Ordered margaritas, it was the deal of the day. They tasted sugary and everyone was in agreement we should have ordered water. There was almost no alcohol. Lunch was ok. Everything was an extra charge. Sour cream salsa, rice, beans etc. Who wNts to eat a quesadilla with out sour cream ? The waiter was extremely slow even though only one other person waa there. He also thought he was Mr smooth the way he kept winking at us. It was a turn off.

Truly enjoyed the warm, fresh and thin chips and salsa with a delicious house margarita!

The food is great, IF The waitress puts The order in for you; and delivers it to you. Otherwise, you have to eat some of what your friends order…. off a napkin. Make sure that whenever you let your waitress take your drink that she only takes yours. That way she doesn’t confuse your and your colleagues.

Gotta be the best Mexican food in North Carolina. The carne, and nopales was terrific, and the handmade corn tortillas tasted like an abuella made them in the kitchen herself.

We ordered pickup. They forgot to include the corn tortillas. Food was cold even though my son was waiting to pick up at the restaurant. We had steak ACP and Enchiladas Supreme. Both dishes were very bland, no taste. We will not be returning which is a shame. I had a good experience the first time I went. The restaurant was empty but it was 5pm which is early.

Service was fantastic and speedy, the menu had plenty of nice options, and the food was good. The food and sauces needed a bit more seasoning, and the tortillas were a little unevenly cooked, but the meat and produce were fresh and tasty. The prices are not on the menus and are on the website instead, which is a shame.
