Social Profile:

Los Portales Mexican Restaurant was founded in April of 2006 by Jose and Claudia Ursua. Jose and Claudia met over 24 years ago while working together at a Mexican restaurant, fell in love, and soon married. Both Jose and Claudia shared a dream of owning their own business, and after many years of hard work, dedication, and help from Claudia’s siblings, that dream was realized. By combining their love of Mexican food and culture, Los Portales Mexican Restaurant was born. “Portales” describes the entrance of a building or section of market in town which is generally reserved for food vendors or homestyle restaurants. It is with great honor that we used this name for our family-run restaurant. We invite you to sample our authentic Mexican cuis

Recently dined at Los Portales and had a fantastic experience! Their happy hour menu is impressive, offering a great variety of delicious options at excellent prices. The complimentary chips and salsa were a perfect start, and I loved how fresh and flavorful they were.

The service was quick, andour food arrived in no time, with generous portions that left me fully satisfied. Overall, a great spot for both casual dining and happy hour. Highly recommend!

We love this place!! They always have the best food, but they also have the kindest waitstaff!

Recently we came to visit for my birthday, and brought the family, the kids, the cake! They were so kind and even supplied us with stuff to serve up the dessert we brought!

Just wanted to give them a shout out bc they deserve it…they are the best!

Can’t wait to come back!!

Great salsa! Ordered a frozen margarita which was Soooooo not frozen…. Got the chile Colorado which said it’s broiled bone in pork… There was definitely no bone and all I got was 4 lil pieces of pork on a big empty plate. My friend got a smothered burrito and said the green chili was good so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but definitely was a sub par performance. If I head back I’ll try something different and adjust

On a chilly (-2°F) Saturday evening in January around 4:45 PM, we arrived, and seating was prompt due to the limited early crowd. The service was excellent, and the prices were just as expected. We placed orders for a bean & cheese burrito and chicken tacos. To put it simply, both dishes were absolutely incredible. The chicken tacos, in particular, stood out as some of the best I’ve ever had. The bean & cheese burrito was equally amazing.

Moses, though not pictured this time, wholeheartedly recommends Los Portales a hundred times over.

Friendly service and awesome food will be found here at Los Portales. The owner pays special care and makes sure guests enjoy their time and have a great meal.

The homemade chorizo is to die for but there are other delicious offerings for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

Plenty of good beers on tap and some creative margaritas and cocktails.

Make it a point to stop in!

I love the story behind Los Portales Mexican Restaurant. Jose and Claudia met while working in a restaurant and fell I. Love. After getting married, they realized their dream of owning a business by opening this restaurant.

The space is welcoming and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is decent. The fajitas, though not as tasty as I’ve had, were decent.

Salsa! We had the opportunity to check this place out and so glad we did! It was a beautiful day, and there is a community eating area outside, Jose was gracious enough to serve our lunch under the Colorado sunshine. The complimentary chips and salsa are excellent. We had the lunch taco special which hit the mark. Two tacos, and small serving of beans and rice. Perfect. The food was flavorful, and my daughter thought the beans and rice were some of the best she had. Highly recommend.

First time here, I will definitely be going back. Wonderful location, great ambiance inside. The service was wonderful; greeted as soon as I walked in, quick to take my drink order and arrived soon after – their Paloma was so refreshing! The salsa had great flavor, just the right amount of spice. Shrimp fajitas were excellent, veggies perfectly cooked; beans and rice were tasty. Again, I can’t get over how great the service was!

We came to check out happy hour after receiving a flyer in our mail. We liked the food, but the margaritas were mediocre. We ordered the Portales marg, and it has orange juice in it. We watched them pour it pre-made which is fine, but the OJ had a stale taste to it. It was also really weak. We ordered a shot of tequila to pour into it. We also ordered food from the happy hour menu. We tried the chicken quesedilla and the Carne Asada tacos. Both were excellent. They could give you a little more pico de gallo, however. They bring you free chips and salsa, but the salsa is wayyyyy too hot. I couldn’t eat more than one chip. Too many jalapeños for sure. When they brought our bill, they didn’t give us happy hour prices on our drinks and one of the food items which were both on the happy hour menu. The owner tried to tell us the drinks were not on happy hour, so I had to pull up the menu to show him. I am not sure why he tried to give us dinner prices on the tacos at first too. He was happy to adjust our ticket, but had we not looked it over, we would have been fully charged. It made me wonder how often the establishment tries to do this to their customers. I would love to try some of their other menu options, but they are on the pricey side. I would suggest trying them out for happy hour first. We will likely come back for more food but probably go someplace else for drinks.
