Worst enchilades I have ever had. They threw a bunch of moderately chopped pork in them, with a bunch of fat, and hardly any sauce. Looking for real good food and Gloucester hispanic resturaunts continue to dissapoint because it seems like they just don’t put in any flavor or authenicity.

Food was pretty good I only had 1 flaw when I had a flaw in my salsa and it was in there when it came from the kitchen. But other than that everything was hot and came out pretty quick. Service was good also. The menu was pretty diverse as well.

Really enjoyable! Great food portions and presentation. Comfortable seating environment. Friendly staff. My mom enjoyed her split pineapple seafood dish. We both enjoyed the shrimp cocktail in a huge margarita glass.

The food was excellent, as always. We got takeout and would have given 5 stars but they forgot to put the tortillas in the bag for the Vegetarian Fajitas. The Burrito Los Portales was huge.

We had a very enjoyable lunch. Chips and salsa to start, so many choices on their menu! My friend always gets shrimp and rice, so I thought I’d try it. Once I saw the menu, I changed to a Burrito Acapulco-shrimp, scallops, fake crab, with real crab on top. It was delicious and I brought half home. My husband brought home half of his Steak Fahita Enchilada also. We were not asked how our food was and were not offered refills on my husband’s soda. That is why only 4 stars for service. The waiter did walk by a couple of times. We were not deep into conversation, so he wouldn’t have been interrupting important conversation. We were served our food quickly after ordering and it was nice and hot. We will definitely go back. This location is in Gloucester, VA. I have heard good reviews from friends on the other locations

My husband and I have been to the Los Portales in Tappahannock, and we love that one; so we decided to go with some friends to the Gloucester location. IM SO GLAD WE DID!
Alcohol: THEY HAVE A MARGARITA FLIGHT!!!! There were 2 size options, 3 or 5 count… we got the 5 count, which came with one frozen margarita, a spicy, a sweet and a pink colada. They were made well, and were worth the $20 price tag in my opinion!
For food: I ordered the Chori Pollo (chicken breast with chorizo on top with cheese sauce) and it comes with refried beans and rice on the side. It was the perfect temperature and portion size! Tasted fresh. My husband got the Fajitas Texanas (chicken, steak, shrimp, peppers, & onions); it comes in 2 sizes, single & double. It also comes with 3 tortillas and pico de gallo salad. Sour cream is available upon request. He really enjoyed his food.
My chori pollo was 14.99
My husband got the single Fajitas size and his was 17.99
Our service was good, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to come out!
Cash or card is accepted!

The flavors of the food are perfect. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food and the service. Definitely worth every penny! Our waitress and manager were always very attentive to us. Adding one more thing, the fresh guacamole made at your table is the best I have ever had. I definitely recommend this place.

We ordered 2 fajita dinners and a shrimp and rice meal for take out, spending about 40.00. My husband drove 10 minutes to and 10 minutes from the restaurant to pick up our food. When he arrived home, we discovered that 1/3 of the orders we paid for were not there. We called them to tell them they had omitted our shrimp and rice meal. Then my husband got back in the car and drove another 10 minutes to and from their restaurant to pick up the food we had already paid for, leaving his food at home to get cold. The best this restaurant could do was offer us a bag free bag of greasy chips and salsa, rather than to do the classy thing, and refund his cost of the shrimp and rice meal for their mistake and our inconvenience.
We won’t be back!

I want to start by saying I have been in food service for 40 years and know all too well how difficult both operations and customers can be. I have eaten at this restaurant probably a half dozen times this past year and have enjoyed it every time. I really enjoy the food and service and absolutely love the rice. It is the best rice i have ever had in any Mexican restaurant in my 40+ years of eating out. I would love to have the recipe. Our server (Mariela) was very pleasant and did a great job getting our order, delivering our food and checking up on us. The tall guy making drinks for his customers was very pleasant and gave us a small taste of the remains of a mango margarita from the blender before he rinsed it, excellent touch letting us sample it knowing we may possibly buy one based on that gesture. I tried something new tonight, the burrito Colorado. I believe the quality, and taste was exactly as you intended, and for someone who loves the taste of chilis this is probably an excellent choice. I loved the first 3-4 bites then found it not to be something I would not order again, just not my personal favorite. The disappointment in our meal tonight came with my wife’s dinner, she is a vegetarian and ordered the nachos supreme no meat. When it was delivered I could see she was disappointed. The nachos looked very pale. Many times when you order nachos the shredded cheese is melted under a broiler or in a hot oven and the chips are browned on the edges from the heat. The shredded cheese on hers was not completely melted and the garnish of tomatoes and lettuce was underwhelming. I then noticed that there was a considerable amount of “milky water” on the plate, this appeared to be from the lettuce , maybe they cut it and keep it in ice water to keep it crisp on the line. You could tilt the plate, as I did for a male server/manager, and it pooled on the plate. I have never ordered a plate of nachos anywhere that had “milky water, water from the lettuce mixed with the queso” on the plate. This made the chips soggy and the meal unpleasant. When our serve came to see if we wanted to go boxes, i showed her the pooled water too and surprisingly got the same message as I did from the male, “it is water from the lettuce.” Needless to say we were very disappointed. Knowing how difficult it can be to get consistency from cooks and servers, we do not like making a scene, so we paid our bill, tipped and left sad that our excitement about dinner ended this way. I would definitely recommend eating here, i would not recommend getting the “vegetarian nachos.”
