This is a solid authentic Mexican restaurant that is conveniently located just off the i80 highway close to the Iowa border.
It has very good home cooked food including a lot of non fast food Mexican dishes like Tilapia for very reasonable prices. I’d totally eat here over any other fast food places around. Highly recommend if you’re passing through and need a good and convenient eating option.

Super good. Travel across the state a few times a year and always try new taco spots.
I smashed on the Fried Flour Shell Tacos. Tried the Asada and Pastor. Great flavorful meat. Liked the fried shells. They were thin and crispy. Not too puffy or chewy just the right crunch. Rice and beans were on point. Salsa was tasty. Girlfriend got the soft corn shell carnitas, was also muy bueno. Good price, Will def stop again! Thank you!

Fast service. Great red tamales. My family loves the floutas too. Easy to get to always open. Los Portales is a hit! Perfect if you’re in town for the zoo or college world series cws.

We went to the zoo and were looking for a place close to get quick lunch. This one is really close and had amazing food! I ordered a steak burrito for ~$8. Its delicious and a lot of food!!! Our group of 4 all liked our orders.

Very quick service. You can order online very easily as well. The restaurant feels more like a takeout first restaurant rather than a nice place to dine in at. The tacos were delicious, will definitely be going back

I see some non Latino people generally doesn’t know about gorditas but try nopalitos or chicharrón gorditas soo yum , also carne asada con nopal plate or cabeza tacos ,,,damn getting hungry again … still missing that beans and cheese dip you guys used to offer like 7 years ago …

Very good! The chicken enchiladas were muy delicious! My wife’s fajitas were great! The steak meat was a little tough but the flavors were spot on! Service did take a bit of time but the staff was super friendly!
