Our family has visited Los Portales for many of celebrations and just to go out on occasion to eat some great authentic Mexican food. We chose to come tonight to celebrate my mother in law Birthday. Considering what is going on in Minnesota right now I feel the family at Los Portales is doing the best they can. They are short staff and it is only the owner, his wife and daughter trying to run the restaurant. I ask people to please be patient and understand they are doing the best they can under these very stressful times that are hurting a lot of family businesses. They are not able to offer the full menu at this time and I can’t wait until things can go back to normal.

The food was SO SO SO good. You definitely need to try it. We went between dinner and lunch time and there was barely anybody there. Our waitress was super friendly and very nice and the food came out very quickly. She filled her pop every time that it was empty. I saw advertising for music so I’m guessing dinner time and weekends is a little bit more busy. You definitely need to try it if you’re in the area. It was our first time going

The food was great. I am not usually into Mexican food but this place was good. You have to try the shrimp filled empanadas. You also should try the pizza barría. The orchata was really good as well.

Last time I came I wasn’t satisfied but since it had just opened I decided to give them a second chance. Sad, not what I expected. My $55 dollar plate was nothing what I expected. Breaded uncooked fish. Flavorless fried fish. Meat was good the arrachera and costillas. Now the drinks total fail.. cantarito no alcohol but I was told it had tequila… changed to a LIT and fail. All I tasted was some lime syrup (mixed drink syrup) again not enjoyable.. maybe next time I pick a beer or coke to stay in the safe zone. Hate it that I paid $95 for some delicious rice and beans with queso fresco.

the pozole was good but the aguachile not so good i didnt check the menu but they put mayo on top of mine and for me its a big no they’ll have to ask before they serve it to you like thay but maybe it was written in the menu and i just didnt notice it. but from what i know Aguachile is not serve with mayo unless you ask for it but maybe thats just me ♂️ ♂️

I love birria, I go different places just to try the birria. There’s only one other place I like to go, I think this place is gonna be my spot! The tacos weren’t soft, the queso was spot on enough, and the consume was delicious
