Dropped in on our way back from the snow. Excellent service and waiter. Free chips & salsa with refried beans. Food wasn’t overly greasy, fresh, great reasonable kids menu prices. Clean restaurant. NFL was playing on the bar tvs. Excellent experience.

This place was delicious. The prices are great. We’re used to almost $20 a plate in Las Vegas at our favorite Mexican places and my shrimp enchiladas had avocado and shrimp and was $14! Prices are good. Portions are good. Wait staff was kind and attentive. If we lived here, this would be a REGULAR place we would come to. My husband got the supremas enchiladas with imitation crab and veggies and they were also delicious. We went with our uncle and aunt. Four meals, an appetizer, and a dessert and it was about $100 with tip. That’s pretty good to us!

It was amazing cute little Mexican place. Food was really good. We ordered Bass Tacos. Those were really really good.

The service was very slow though especially for the lunch time when everyone has to get back to work in time. Our server had no idea if the food there when we asked for recommendations. But whatever we ordered turned out to be really good

This is my go to local Mexican food restaurant. Their rib eye dinner is amazing. My family also likes their burritos. Their salsa, guacamole, and lemon drops never fail to please.

It was late at night and we arrived. They were two waitresses at the podium where you stand to get seated. They had us wait a few minutes before they acknowledged us. And then said us. They wanted to sit us in the bar, but we wanted the restaurant. When we went to the restaurant, there was the mop and cleaning items on the floor even though it wasn’t closing for about 45 minutes. the food was not very good. My tacos hardly had any meat and more lettuce. My bf likes and eats everything and did not like his chicken burrito. He only ate 1/2. The service was not attentive. Then we ordered ice cream and a churro to share and the churro was hard. I saw all the great reviews, so maybe it was an off night. The best is they give you some beans with your chips and salsa. The place looks very festive and there was plenty of parking.

I have been here about 5 times since the new ownership. It continues to get worse. Last night my wife ordered tamales and they were store bought dried out & microwaved then smothered in canned tomato sauce with sauteed onions and bell peppers like you might find on pasta.

My enchiladas were supposed to be chicken but they brought ground beef. The avocado had a black spot and they just served it anyway. The food took way took long to come to the table.

Over all… seems penny pinching is a bigger concern than providing fast service with quality dishes that the chef takes pride in. This place is a joke. Not returning!

EDIT: We heard there is a new chef at Los Pinos so we decided to give them another go. = Nope nope nope!
Unfortunately same results regarding food flavor, plating & overall atmosphere.

I ordered chicken tacos. Seems simple but the chicken didn’t have a lick of seasoning. I was expecting at least cumin, coriander and salt. Shredded would have been nice but they were frozen tenders seared on the cook top in oil. Ya, not even butter. The black beans were just plain with melted cheddar. Should have been cotija cheese and the beans could have been fortified by adding sauteed onion and diced red bell pepper. The Spanish rice was good and the margarita but that’s where it ended.

No stars. No flair. No reason to return.

Our server, Kelsey, was AWESOME! She’s cheerful, attentive and kind. Best service I’ve had here. Kelsey is the reason for this review.
The food is delicious, as always. Tonight we had carnes quesadilla, shrimp enchiladas and steak and shrimp fajitas. It was all delicious.
We eat here regularly, and the food never disappoints. It’s flavorful and fresh.
The atmosphere inside and out is inviting and comfortable.
I’d recommend Los Piños, for lunch, dinner and special occasions.

Solid option for Mexican food in Cameron Park. It’s a sit down restaurant with a bar. The restaurant has a family friendly vibe. The customer service is fantastic. But they do get busy during peak times and when it’s a full house, there is a wait time for a table.

On my last visit, I ordered the Los Pinos Carne Asada which was a marinated flame broiled ribeye. I thought it would be more like carne asada, thin skirt steak. But this steak was thicker than carne asada and was an actual rib eye. It was a bit tough to cut with the steak knife. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare to what I asked for. But it was chewy, stringy. The Spanish rice and refried beans were perfectly basic and tasty. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. The waitress kept ‘em coming. My dining pals ordered margaritas, they luved ‘em. Folks enjoyed their food. Crispy asada tacos, chicken burrito, steak ranchero, chicken fajitas, and chicken taco salad. The fajita plate serving size is substantial. The taco salad was served in a crispy fried tortilla shell. It was a hefty serving size as well.

The service was really good and friendly people and the room was very roomy. Food are excellent and generous servings make the cost reasonable. My husband like his taco salad. It was a great overall.

We had the carnita fajitas for two which was absolutely delicious! Servers could have been a bit more attentive. We had to wait quite a while to have our order taken and our server rarely checked on us. We had to wait quite a while for our check as well.
