The young attendant was very friendly and helpful.
I ordered three Asada Tacos, and they were mediocre. The meat is overcooked and not fresh. It is the same for the cilantro with better days—one star for the tacos.
I ordered a plate of Nopales because I knew the restaurant’s name, and they were surprised. The first time, they put the nopales on top of a lettuce salad, which you will never see in Mexico, so I returned it. The second time, I got what I wanted: a plate full healthy nopales unfortunately not fresh. Two stars to the nopales.
Los Nopales has flies going around your table while you eat.
I’m sorry to say Los Nopales is much inferior in food quality to Juanitas Tacos, the former restaurant. However, I did not try other items on the long menu.
My father in law went and picked up the order. When he got back I realized they forgot an extra side. We thought ok that’s fine as long as we didn’t get charged for it.
I ordered a flauta plate. It wasn’t very neat the lettuce was cut it big chunks and my flautas were soggy and soaked in what I think was melted sour cream. Once I tried the flautas I realized the chicken was extra dry and crisped and it tasted like refrigerator. Couldn’t eat it. The rice and beans it came with were ok but they give you very little.
The other things we ordered were just okay. My daughter refused to eat the asada tacos. I tried them and the meat wasn’t the best. The torta my mother in law said wasn’t as good as one she’s had from there before. And the salsa was very watered down.
I definitely feel like it’s expensive for what you get.
I wouldn’t be writing this review but this isn’t the first time that the food quality isn’t the best. Last time it was the chicharrón gorditas. They aren’t cheap and they weren’t filled enough. They were also dry and the tortilla seemed old.
Hope they can do better but definitely not the same as before when it was Juanita’s.
