Los mezcales has been a frequent visit for myself. The food is always fresh, savory, and irresistible. Tostadas de Tinga and quesobirrias are depicted in the pictures and I wish I could have it all over again. My favorite seafood dish would be the aguachiles. You won’t regret the visit, I guarantee it.

Los Mezcales was our 2024 Nebraska Passport stop number six, and we were very impressed. They were busy, so it took our waiter a few minutes to get to us, but there was a lot to read, see, and figure out. Our waiter was great and provided good guidance. The street tacos were very good, but the drinks were even better. With the tip, we invested $73 in a filling meal and excellent refreshments. When we find ourselves in Fremont again, we would absolutely come back (and maybe even make the trip JUST for dinner again).

First time here for dinner tonight. Service wasn’t really great, had to get their attention to get seated, took 10 mins to get my drink after ordering….. had to bug the waitress for my check, it was slow and 7pm so maybe that’s expected – no big deal.
but the layered steak quesadilla was literally *amazing*, this place uses the freshest ingredients and is *serious* about food quality. Someone in the kitchen CARES, and this place is a gem. Prices were great considering the quality! I’ll wait hours for this food again, no questions asked. See you again soon!

Los Mezcales is definitely a must stop in Fremont. Our bartender/server was great with wonderful customer service, great suggestions, and super friendly. He was the only server in the restaurant on Tuesday, so service was a tad slow. The Tacos Dorados De Chorizo was wonderful with a lovely presentation. Loved the green salsa pairing. It had the right amount of kick and amazing flavor. My husband and son loved their chicken burritos (I stole their guacamole, and it was fantastic), and my Quesabirrias was the BEST I’ve had. I was beginning to think I didn’t particularly like birria tacos until I had them here, and the consomé was perfection. Not only a must try, but Los Mezcales is a repeat.

My husband, daughter and I were shopping and tried this place. They just opened so we didn’t focus too much on the dirty tables. He ordered the street tacos, a chicken quesadilla for our daughter, and the molcajete for myself. They enjoyed their food but ALL of the meat in my molcajete was overcooked to the point it was dry. I assume it’s because it may continue to cook in stone bowl it’s served in. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. If we try this place again, I’ll avoid ordering the molcajete.

Wow! Such a pleasant surprise to find this gem in downtown Fremont! We had a girls night here and it was superb. Margarita choices are endless and they have one on special for just $5. Drinks are presented in beautiful glassware with special garnish.
The food impressed too. Plus they were happy to accommodate special requests (no rice/beans but add grilled veggies) and shared meals. Service was good and the staff was kind and thorough. Will definitely return!

There was a slight mix up where they forgot the dessert but they were understanding and actually delivered the dessert plus one to make up for it. Yummy food great business!

One of the best Mexican places within the region for sure. The ingredients are fresh. Prices are very fair. The staff are fast and friendly. Definitely a place to stop if you’re passing through Fremont.

I would have given it all five stars, but the beef and pork lacked a bit of seasoning, and it was on the dry side. The tinga was awesome, not dry at all. Great flavor! The guacamole was good and creamy but had no onions or tomatoes. And the cheese dip was runny. The service and atmosphere were awesome The hot sauce was really good. The workers made it a better experience. I would probably try it again if I was in town. I recommend you try it. It could have just been an off day for the cooks. Just my 2 cents
