I was traveling through Austin and decided to try a new place for dinner. Los Landeros was open and instantly felt like the perfect local Mexican food spot — the kind you hope to stumble upon when you’re passing through. The staff was very welcoming right away, offering dine-in or carry-out. We chose to dine in.
One thing I appreciated immediately was the menu. A lot of Mexican restaurants have pages and pages of items, and I usually end up hunting for my usual favorites. Here, the menu was simple — just front and back — which honestly felt like a good sign.
I went with my go-to: birria tacos. Not every place offers them, and they’re har to fail but rarely perfected. First off, don’t judge the food by the free chips and salsa — they were fine, but the real magic came with the entrées.
The birria tacos were excellent. The shells had an amazing crispy texture without being hard or crunchy, and the flavor was outstanding. Rich, savory, and done just right. My friend ordered the guajolota, something new to him, and he couldn’t stop talking about how good it was — deeply satisfying, full of dynamic flavor, and great texture throughout.
This is absolutely a place I’d recommend — honestly, I’d even say it’s worth driving out of your way for. Authentic, welcoming, and really well-executed food. We’ll definitely be back.

Hours don’t match when they are open,take out only I found out! Over priced (even with a coupon). But lady taking our order was very,very nice. Tried it,won’t be back anytime soon. Sorry

As a semi-truck driver stuck at my shipper for over four hours and unable to leave for food, I called to place an order. Without even knowing me, the team went above and beyond by delivering my food and waiving the delivery fee! The food is great, but their generosity and phenomenal customer care are why I highly recommend everyone visit them. They earned a customer for life!”

Went here for the first time yesterday, everything was perfect! Great, fresh tortillas, and the birria was outstanding. We also got carnitas, pastor, and green enchiladas, everything was 5/5. I wish I could get my rice to turn out like theirs.

Want to give a shout out to Los Landeros Mexican Restaurant !! It was our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered online with free delivery. The food came very fresh and hot.

The service was great, very kind women that tended to us.
We ordered chicken sopes, Carne asada taco and birria tacos with consomé.
The birria tacos and consomé- was amazing. The consomé had so much flavor, the meat in the birria tacos tasted great! I am a food person and I recommend this place to try to Birria consomé.
The sopes were homemade-chicken was a little bland, but adding the salsa added some flavor.
Carne asada taco was ok. I would have liked more flavor.
I will be returning to try some of the other dishes.

I got the tacos al pastor. The flavor of the tacos was great.I loved getting pineapple chunks in the tacos. I appreciated getting one lime per taco. A bit spendy but very tasty.
