Food trucks are my absolute favorite! I couldn’t resist trying the Elotes food truck. It was absolutely delicious! I ate it up so quickly that I forgot to take a picture. The location was great, and everyone was super friendly. There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the food.

Really was looking forward to trying this place out,. Highly disappointed, did not think to check my order before leaving. I really should have, after making it back home less (than a 7 minute drive) I opened my bag picked up my first taco, (quesabirria) instantly falling apart in my hand, soaked in grease it was a struggle to handle. Super disappointed in the 3 soggy tacos I received,. Not sure if I will be returning, after reading reviews it seems maybe that the quesabirria is not there strongest dish.

Please listen to the negative reviews. They are 100% accurate. First I called to order and the lady on the phone answered hello. She did not acknowledge the business. Second I placed the order and when I arrived it was not ready after 20 mins. 3rd they provide me my order and Ichecked it because reviewed said they left sides off as well as have them soggy birria. In fact that’s exactly what I got. Soggy, greasy meat. I gave them the tacos back and asked them to remake because they just came out so they shouldn’t be soggy. They started remaking and closed the pick up window on me. They also tried to charge me $1.00 for a little more onions and cilantro. Then 20 mins later they give me my Birria tacos. They were crispy on the outside but so I left.
When I got home the tacos were super skinny and they had hardly any birria on the tacos. Nothing. Barely a tablespoon and that was no exaggeration. They were also extremely thin. I took some picture below. I tried calling them to bring that back because it was unacceptable and they did not answer the phone. It’s almost as if she saw my number and knew I would call back. These tacos were smaller than the initial ones that were soggy and greasy when I picked them up. However in that little bit of time these were soggy. This was an insult to charge $20 for some 4 birria tacos and only put the absolutely bare minimum in the taco. It was mostly cheese. I tried to call back several time throughout the evening no answer. So I believe it was intentional. I am all for paying for quality food but this was a rip off with the amount of meat in those tacos. Absolutely horrible. Talk about a mark up on the price. SMH.

If you’re anywhere near Forney, TX and craving authentic, mouthwatering tacos, do yourself a favor and head straight to Los Jefes. Their barbacoa tacos are on a whole different level, hands down some of the best I’ve ever had.
The meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with rich, slow-cooked flavor. You can tell it’s made with care and tradition, not rushed or overly greasy like some places. It practically melts in your mouth. Paired your choice of tortillas topped with cilantro, onions, salsa verde — it’s the perfect bite every time.
What sets Los Jefes apart is not just the flavor, but the consistency. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, those barbacoa tacos hit the same delicious note every time. The portion sizes are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the staff treats you like family.
Los Jefes isn’t just a taco stop — it’s a taco experience. Highly, highly recommend the barbacoa. You won’t regret it!

Yasssss!!!! When you need some great food, this is a must go to place. The owner was absolutely amazing. Great conversation, wonderful customer service and the food definitely made me dance. Everything has amazing flavor, texture and the price is reasonable. They just cook great food and they do it well. This food truck is a gem you have to try. It’s easy to find, great seating and you’ll be going back for more. Thank you so much for making my day.

⭐️ 1 Star — Extremely Disappointed
I ordered a campechana size 10 from Los Jefes, and when I got home (a 10-minute drive), I opened the bag and found the smallest campechana instead. I called the restaurant to let them know, and the same lady who took my order earlier, answered again and was very rude — not even an apology for her mistake.
Instead, she told me that if I wanted the correct size, I would have to pay again for the size 10 AND drive another 10 minutes back. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to waste more time and money because of her error.
Terrible customer service and zero accountability. I will not be returning.
