Probably the best/most authentic california-style mexican restaurant in Madison. Great food and portion sizes for a decent price—beats chipotle/Qdoba any day of the week. The burritos are good and as large as your forearm, but I would recommend the enchiladas or steak.

No way,this was ridiculous,I tried to give the food the benefit of the doubt, but couldn’t eat it,was told to come back, wasn’t open, go back, to act like my money was given back,then they retake my money all over again,then the manager question what I had bc the receipt didn’t have itemized what I was charged for,& I was overcharged, so please check your receipt. Food was dry. & overcooked.

This is the second time I’ve ordered from los gemelos through door dash and the second time I’ve had a missing item. Food is good but not very happy about this happening twice especially when you order on your lunch break and only have a certain time to eat. I don’t know who’s to blame here or door dash but please do better. I’m very upset and it’s frustrating please do better

Food is great, one big major problem they will never address is they say they’re open when they’re not. They will gladly take your online order and payment with ease, then wait for you to come in person for you to find they’re closed with no timetable for return. They take your money, time, and if you’re lucky, you might get some food in return. If you’re closed, say you’re closed. If you’re open, say you’re open. Don’t see why that’s a challenge in 2026.

I had several types of tacos… The tacos themselves were tender but not flimsy… Great fillings and toppings and served super fast.
The service staff was super friendly and caring… Even though it was after midnight… And they stay open until 2:30am!!! So this is a perfect place to quell the late night munchies!
Prices are modest and value is excellent! I love this place!

Came in at 1:45 am on a Tuesday sign said open tell 2:30 since foot traffic was slow at this hour they were closing early. We were just about to walk away then the kind worker opened door and asked if we had online order. We told him no then he said they were closing and asked us what we were going to order. He let us in we ordered tacos they were excellent. He was very nice to let us in and serve us even though they were closing. Unfortunately everyone else that serves food in this city is closed after 11 pm. Thank you for opening the doors for us and letting us eat. We appreciate that I recommend to eat here as much as everyone can possible thank u again.

Be weary of placing an online order. Just placed one and when we got there to pick up they weren’t open. They were making repairs in the restaurant tho. They still charged my card, so I will have to go through the headache of disputing the charge.

Food is ok. The waitstaff however has been rude and disconnected. The place is dirty and it is only 11:30 in the AM. They charge for extra chips after first small SMALL bowl. The prices are also pretty high. I don’t think I will be back. The waitress has made the overall flavor pretty disappointing. I would’ve been a lot happier if she just was patient and less rude. Not mention it’s a long wait with an empty place for ish food…. don’t do it.

This place has a great atmosphere and setup but it’s really lacking in the food department. The guacamole I’m pretty sure came from a tube, it was more liquid than solid when it was served. The tacos were decent, but it’s hard to screw up tacos. I also got the recommended chilaquiles but everything was subpar except for the rice and refried beans, which I’m certain wasn’t made inhouse. The steak that came with it was flavorless and tough. Service was good though.

Fantastic tacos, all of the negative reviews are what I’m assuming from people who are bitter or just don’t have experience with good Mexican food. Love to see a family run restaurant
