Very good authentic Mexican taqueria. I had a shrimp chimichanga and it came out huge and super tasty. The chef delivered it to the table and it has a family owned feeling. The chips were warm and tasted home made. Overall I can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely awesome tacos, and great tortilla chips and salsa too! I got 6 tacos, 4 of which were carne asada, and 2 being spicy pork. I wish I could just eat these tacos all day long

I’m not from Reno but I will be here every time I come back! Hands down one of THE BEST taco spots I’ve ever tried. The beans and rice are to die for. I love a spot that serves spicy salsas. Al pastor is a must try! So much meat on one taco. Yum all around. Keep up the great work !

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I ate here 4 days in a row and loved it more each time. All I can say is this is by far one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. The food is incredibly authentic and fresh. The burritos are massive too. The staff were so kind and the tables were clean. I did not care for Reno as a whole but if I find myself back here, my first stop will be Los Gallos!

In my opinion, the food here would only taste good if you’ve had ~5 drinks. We ordered $50 worth of food and none of it tasted good. We actually threw it out. We ordered – a Quesadilla, sopas, tacos, chips and salsa. The quesadilla was soggy and so salty, the sopas were hard to chew and the beans tasted awful – they had a chemical smell to them, the taco meat wasn’t cooked correctly.
Also, we asked for spicy salsa and they gave me tapatio…. WHAT?!? At a Hispanic restaurant? There was no real salsa? This place gives Mexican food a bad name – honestly. It’s not cheap either. They were very busy but I don’t think they get repetitive customers. They are also across the street from casinos so maybe that’s where the business comes from.
Do NOT go here if you want real Mexican food. What’s surprising is everyone that came in spoke Spanish…. I wonder what this restaurant is for? The food – 100% not….
Only go here for the michoadas.

Food was plenty, affordable, and great tasting. Staff was helpful and checked in with me as I dined in. I had a table for one, midday midweek so it was quick and easy. I’ll come back for more. I’d love to see more drink options. But really, no negatives here. Btw, they had the best chips I ever had. Fresh and crispy.

I had a 2 taco plate with rice and beans for about $14; I didn’t see it on the menu. The menu is a bit messy; it seems designed for those who are already familiar with it. Service was spectacular, food was delicious. Taco de asada had a nice green salsa on it, taco al pastor had a delicious red salsa on it. They came on 2 corn tortillas so I pushed half the meat/cilantro/onion/salsa mix off the top tortilla to make 2
smaller tacos out of each one; knowing it would open me to the possibility of a tortilla breaking. The beans were well spiced so I mixed them with the rice for a more interesting and easier to eat on a fork food. Would 100% recommend!

This place was a great find while I was in town. Very reasonable prices, and the food was awesome! I tried the more adventurous tacos that were different than I was used to: beef head, beef tongue, beef stomach, pig stomach (think those were the ones), and the tripe soup. The soup was huge and phenomenal flavor. I ate here 3 times in 1 week and would likely do the same when back.

We were walking around downtown and saw Los Gallos Taqueria. We decided to go and try it. To my surprise the food is very good. I had a 2 taco plate. One hard and one soft. The hard shell was good and crunchy. The soft was full of meat. The salsa was nice and spicy. My wife had the chicken enchiladas. I would definitely eat here again when we visit. And I recommend Los Gallos Taqueria

In a word: authentic. It is a very simple, non pretentious Mexican restaurant with homemade Mexican flavors. The tacos were the street tacos that had a list of all kinds of proteins to choose from. The menu was varied and everything tasted good. I really enjoyed the flavors there. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to try authentic Mexican cuisine.
