Born into a family with 15 children, Jose Ramirez was lucky number 7. He started his pursuit of this dream as a 13-year-old bagboy at a grocery store in what is known as The Highlands area of Denver. He later worked as a server at Las Palmas, working 60-70 hours per week, eventually becoming the server manager. He would work so much that he would oftentimes sleep in his car while providing for his wife, Martha, and his two sons, Luis and Daniel.Jose saved up enough money to open up the first Los Dos Potrillos location in Centennial in 2002. Jose opened this first location of Los Dos with just $5.18 left in his bank account.
Restaurant supplying Mexican favorites & margaritas in a colorful, lively atmosphere.

Starting out with the chips and salsa have never really been impressed with them at any location. Salsa is pretty basic and inconsistent on spice level in my opinion. The fajitas are a non traditional flavor profile and the veggies lack flavor. Portion sizes are standard however they only bring you two tortillas so if you desire more be prepared to ask. Wife ordered chicken burritos but was brought out ground beef. The waitress wasn’t necessarily apologetic but she said they would remake the correct burrito and they got it out pretty quickly. Overall I have never really been impressed by any of the locations everything lacks flavor imo.

One of the better Mexican food restaurants out there. This location is a little dated compared to their other locations. Drinks, food and desserts are great here. One of our go to destination for a family dinner.

We went to Los Dos Potrillos in Centennial for an early dinner with our kids, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. It was one of our kids’ birthdays, and the staff truly made it special. We were told the wait would be about 15 minutes, and right on time, we were seated. (By the time we were leaving, the wait was much longer — clearly a lot of people know how legit this place is!)
The service was absolutely spectacular. From the hostess to our waiter, everyone was kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Our waiter, in particular, went above and beyond — engaging with us, making sure we had everything we needed, and making us feel taken care of. When he heard it was our daughter’s birthday, he made sure to surprise her at the end of the meal by singing and bringing out a sopapilla the size of a football! She was thrilled.
The food was just as amazing. We had fajitas and chicken mole — both were perfectly seasoned, hot, and delicious. Our kids had meals from the kids’ menu that were great, too. Everything felt fresh and authentic, and honestly, we were a little shocked (in the best way) to have such an incredible experience like this right in the Denver suburbs.
We can’t wait to go back!

Warning: Artery in food. I want to like this place, but every time I try it I’m disappointed. I used to order the pork or barbacoa burritos ($17), but every other time I did, I usually get a mouth full of something nasty. Either a huge glob of fat or, most recently, a “tube”. After getting an artery in my food, I’m done coming here. The price is too high for the poor quality. I would recommend Mi Cocina or Wild Basil (next door) over this place.

One of my favorite Mexican food restaurants. Food is always amazing! There is nothing that I have tried off the menu that I don’t like.. The service is always good.. they do get busy so there is a wait sometimes but the wait is worth it if you are looking for really good Mexican food. Their horchata drink is a hidden gem here. It is homemade and by far some of the best horchata I have ever had. All in all a must try if you want really good Mexican food!

Absolutely the BEST Mexican restaurant in all of Colorado. I can’t believe how amazing the food here is. Every single bite was full of flavor!!! The steak burrito was incredible, I highly recommend it. The carne asada fries were also amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

I visit Los Dos Potrillos in Centennial every month when I’m in Denver, and I’m always blown away by the food and the service. This last time, our server Adamari was exceptional. She was incredibly kind and sweet, checking up on us regularly and making us feel truly welcome.
Adamari was very pleasant and attentive throughout our meal. We mentioned to her that we only come to this location now because everyone is just so nice and fast. The food was so good that you dream about it—I’m drooling just typing this review, haha!
Adamari’s excellent service made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Her warmth and professionalism are a big part of why we keep coming back. If you’re looking for a fantastic meal with outstanding service, Los Dos Potrillos in Centennial is the place to go, and be sure to ask for Adamari!

My family and I went to celebrate my birthday and we couldn’t have left happier. From the moment you walk in, the entire staff acknowledges and welcomes you with a smile. The food is fenomenal. The taco salad and the quesa birria tacos were a hit! The food comes out incredibly quick, the staff is always so quick and helpful. We couldn’t skip dessert, so we ordered some churros and a flan, and again, everything amazing. We went on a Wednesday, which they had a mariachi band. The mariachis sang me happy birthday and I even got to take home a Polaroid for celebrating my birthday there. I can’t recommend this place enough, we have to control ourselves now, or else we would go every week lol If you’re looking for a sign to dine in, just do it! You won’t regret it! Shout out to the GM Danny for acknowledging us and making sure we were enjoying our experience. Thank you Los dos and Danny, for making my birthday so special and memorable!!

We had eaten out a few different locations, Castle Rock and Parker to name just a few. We always enjoyed eating here, the food is exceptional. But we were always told the original is the best. I recently started working near the here and finally got to try it out and I have to say that’s 100% accurate. There’s something very special about this location, and I think the food is actually better. It is *probably* my favorite Mexican restaurant right now. They really excel at carne asada. The best out there in my opinion. Check them out!
