Recently came across this new restaurant and was a little skeptical since there was not many pictures. Decided to try it on a Saturday around 4:30pm. It was not busy so we were quickly greeted by a very polite waiter. The menu has tons of options which was a little overwhelming but I ordered steak & chicken fajitas which came with rice, beans & salad. I also ordered a chimichanga that came with rice, beans & salad. For desert we orders sopapillas. They included a bag of chips and salsa for free! 🙂 the portion size of the meals were so big that I have enough left overs for my next meal. We definitely loved the flavor and will be returning again! Highly recommend this location.

Update: 2-3 weeks later, I’ve tried several more entrees. They keep getting better. The flavors are on point, the ingredients fresh, consistency is a little wobbly but still above average, and the value is excellent.
I’ve updated my rating to 4 stars and am heartily recommending this place to family, friends, and anyone who’ll listen.
Last thought: go at off-peak times. Staffing is a problem for many restaurants at this time. I’d hate for anyone to have a bad experience just because it’s too busy.
Original review, within days of opening:
Local here. Losing Bob & Luigi’s was sad, then the building sat idle for awhile. After a 6-8 month delay (probably due to covid), we finally get a legit Tex Mex place in Bel Aire.
If I understood the story correctly, this is the brother in law (cuñado) of the owner(s)(?) of El Agave. Measuring this against that expectation, I’d say they did a pretty good job of cloning Agave.
Having said that, the asada I had was decent but nothing special. The rice & beans are the same fast Mexican you’d get anywhere else (including Agave), and the dishwater lettuce was an unhappy surprise. The portions were slightly larger than typical, and the people were helpful and friendly.
You should definitely check it out for yourself. This is one of those places that you’ll either love or hate.

My husband ordered the chicken tortilla soup, which I tried a bite of and it was delicious! Very flavorful. I ordered their signature burrito and it was also very good. If you like something a bit heavier go for the burrito as it had a delicious cheese sauce covering it. This was our second time there and both times have really enjoyed the food and service! Also, very quick service and friendly staff.

This is my husband and my second visit and the food is just as amazing as the first visit. Our first visit the restaurant was packed at early dinner time on a Friday. This time it’s later on a Monday and a little quieter. The food is amazing. We will be returning again and again! My husband ordered the Chile Colorado, and I ordered the Los Cunados Burrito.

First time here based on a friend’s recommendation. The food and staff were amazing. They have a ton of options and a good value. Construction makes it hard to get there, but it’s worth it. Highly recommend.

This is the best neighborhood Mexican Restaurant! Great prices, friendly and efficient staff, and delicious food! The salsa and chips are yummy, as is the queso blanco (small size in pic). Second pic is the Fajita Chimichanga and the Chkn Taquitos Mexicanos! Will probably continue eating here once a week for the rest of my life :’)

The restaurant is unique.
The food was so special. I ordered a Parrillada and it tasted like back home, you can feel that the ingredients are fresh and the preparation is really original. I reccomend you to taste “La Parrillada”. This is real Mexican food.
And the waiter was so funny like my tío.
