Feisty Grandma
We stopped for dinner on our way through Batavia while traveling. Here are my reviews of this homespun Mexican restaurant:
•
The menu on the Google reviews is incorrect. The prices are higher.
•
The service is excellent.
•
The chips at the salsa bar aren’t very good. Salsa offerings, tasty. The chicken enchilada special ($14) found the enchiladas small and mid. The Mexican ramen ($14) spicy. The steak tacos ($5 each), delicious.

OMGGG!!!! This place makes the best AUTHENTIC Mexican food I’ve eaten, in quite some time. VERY well seasoned, & the portion size is well worth every penny! The staff is very kind, & even went above and beyond to make sure I got everything I wanted. I will ALWAYS choose Los Compadres (Batavia) over any other taco place, in NY! Yum!

What am awesome find❗ All the five star ⭐ reviews are on point❗ The atmosphere, the food are all spectacular. The steak is marinade in their spices, so it had a unique unexpected in a good way flavor. If given the choice between a traditional steak cooked in salt and pepper or their version. I’d choose this anyway❗ Meat lovers steak dish was fantastic❗ Very filling. The restaurant was nice and cool on a hot day. Bravo to the proprietor❗ Home cooked food/flavor coupled with friendly people❗

I’m from SoCal, have gone to Mexico several times and grew up eating my grandma’s Mexican food.. she was Mexican.
This place is the best Mexican food in town, hands down!
The employees are always nice as well!

I’ve been to some taqueria’s in my travels and this is EASY TOP 3… the lengua tacos are stuffed with chunks of tender tongue and alot of places is chopped and dry… the self serve taco bar is super clean and fresh. The atmosphere is open dining with views of the cooks and it’s super clean … if I could give 10 stars I would.. Definitely recommended if you’re in Batavia
Update: just went back for MORE TACOS DE LENGUA… I’M ADDICTED the meat is so tender and the flavor is so good…

This is one of the finest taquerias in Western New York. The hostess is pleasant, and helpful, she made some wonderful recommendations. Top notch carnitas, barbacoa is excellent. The al pastor is enhanced with grilled onions, something many other versions of the same taco are regretfully missing.

I’m starting to call Batavia “ little Mexico”! This place makes the best Mexican food in the area! The tacos are amazing and they have so many varieties! El Pastor, Carnitas, Barbacoa, Tripe, and so many more. We all enjoyed it and will be back!

I feel like I got robbed.
37$ for 8 tacos no drinks. They’re bare bone tacos with nothing on them they make you put all the toppings on and get all the sauce, so it’s 37$ for corn tortillas and meat that doesn’t even look that good. But what’s entirely more insulting is a $0.50 “To-Go” charge that they’ll tack on for the service of getting them to put it in a container for you.
The place across town charges half as much and puts the taco together for you. Go there you’ll be much better off.

A delicious treat! So nice to finally find a good Mexican restaurant. Great variety of meats to choose from on the menu, and the pork carnitas were amazing. Tamales are very good, tacos are simple. Cheap to add rice and beans on the side, and can’t beat a $1.99 margarita!
