DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
$20 for a taco bell burrito and a side of rice. I’m in utter disbelief. Burrito was cold as well. WORST food experience I’ve had in YEARS. Placed a 5 dollar bill next to the burrito for size comparison.
Burrito costs approx $5/per bite. Stay away.

Haven’t been here in 30 years, and the restaurant still served it’s meals on large oval platters. I had the deluxe tostada. It comes w beans rice. Corn chips. Still serving traditional plates of Mexican food. This is a stick-to-your-ribs type of comida. It you are craving low-carb tortillas or fat-free alternatives, you best try somewhere else.

My friend and I they only make carnitas on Saturday. They are only open Friday and Saturday. Everything is good enchiladas are really good so are the chile rellenos family-owned business and have been there a long time.

I came for a chili relleno dinner plate and found home away from home. Enacio has been there 56 years. His brother inlayed all the table tops with tiles. He boasts all the food is made from scratch. What’s not to love? You will be coddled with more than you asked for.

The gentleman told me there was no menu with prices on it, he wanted to know what I wanted to eat and he would tell me how much it would cost. That does not work for me!

A fantastic family run restaurant with incredible customer service and delicious food.
We found this place on Google while passing through Hayward and it turned out to be an evening we would never forget.
Our host, Ignacio, told us about the history of the restaurant and the story behind each dish. It was a nice personal touch and we all loved it.
The homemade salsa has a delicious smokey flavour and the pork taco was a fan favourite.
We got caught up in the moment and I had a bit of a whoopsy-daisy, leaving without my backpack containing me and my friend’s passports, wallets and cameras in the restaurant.
We noticed about 20 mins down the road and when we called we were greeted by a relieved Ignacio who, along with some of his regulars, had contacted us via Facebook to tell us we’d left it there.
When we returned he even gave us some mini burritos for the journey! And they were bloody delicious.
It was some of the best customer service I’d ever experienced and the food was to match.
All the best to Los Compadres for the future. We won’t forget you!

I went into Los Compadres for the first time in ~10 years yesterday. I used to go all the time growing up, but I moved. The food tastes *exactly* like I remember. The building is simple, clean, and the tables are embossed with beautiful tile.
Food was great and well prepared. The same owner I remember from childhood is still working. Definitely go here if you’re in Hayward and want Mexican food.
