Stopped from out of town, starving. I ordered the quesabirria tacos. $15 for 3. That seemed fair but it was only the tacos, so I paid extra for the rice and beans. Dont even bother with those, they were cold and the beans were grey and smelled rancid. The consomme was also cold and tasted like it had tajin in it? Odd. The tacos themselves were ok but not $17 dollars worth. My husband got the chorizo burrito, he said he wouldnt eat it again. Couldn’t even tell anyone about my experience, they were all in the back.

Great place for Mexican food when you are on the road. Decided to stop by Raton after a hike and loved it. Also thought the folks who work there were very nice and provided great service. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves good Mexican food and are in Raton.

Driving through Raton and of course we wanted Mexican food. Chose this place! Best decision in a long time. Walk up counter to order. Huge menu. Decided on chili rellenos and chicken enchiladas. Best rellenos I have had in a very long time. My hubby loved the enchiladas. We also had a half order of the carne asada fries. Loaded with pico, steak, sour cream, guacamole. Fantastic! They have a fresh salsa bar too.
The service was superb. They came to the table several times to see if we needed anything else and to check on us.
We would eat here all the time if we lived here.

Counter service. Staff was very friendly. Food was good, TexMex style. The taco shells were very light and crunchy. Prices are good. Atmosphere is basic. I would recommend.

Non descript front leads to a colorful and amazingly clean, bright interior. Easy to see lots of pride in the location and the food. Menu was tremendous with lots of choices. Owner told us he used full sized corn tortillas so tacos were good sized. I thought I had heard that before in other restaurants but they were small. NOT HERE, really nice sized with large servings of very flavorful meats. Asada was delicious tender, moist and flavorful as was the Al Pastor and lengua! My wife’s shrimp taco was just as great. I got 3 tacos but 2 would have been perfect. I did eat all 3 though!! Lol Loaded fries were LOADED and very large. Real Coke from Mexico was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop in here and enjoy!

Driving through Raton while traveling led to dining at this amazing restaurant. The quality of the food was so impressive. From the freshness of the ingredients to the presentation of the meal it was top notch. I was sad leaving Raton knowing that I was leaving this place behind.

This eatery was highly recommended by our hotel. So we thought we would go with what the locals thought was good. Very disappointing. Paper plates and plastic forks and spoons doesn’t make and funky old decor doesn’t provide a great atmosphere for a sit down dinner. The service was extremely slow. Overpriced for what you got. $17.00 for Birria Taco Plate.

Great Mexican food in Rotan. The shrimp cocktail was wonderful but I must warn you it was spicy. The bierra tacos with queso and consome were delicious and had a great flavor. Our server was wonderful she would have brought our meal out quicker but they ran out of corn tortillas so had to go to the store to get some. Either way it was not a long wait and the food was wonderful.
